Menus don't accept mouse commands

After taking a day and a half trying to fix what is keeping me from playing Oblivion, I am finally able to start a new game! The only problem is, that when I try to use menus with my mouse, it doesn't work. I put the pointer over something, nothing. I click what I want my character to say, nothing. I try to generate my character, I was able to with the directional & Enter keys, but it was annoying having to do this.

Could any of these have done it? I also installed DarNified UI, used BOSS, & have Oblivion Script Extender installed. It may help with finding the problem if I say I have the Steam version. Please help as soon as possible!

 

Edit: Okay, I don't know what happened, but it seemed that the problem just... went away. Huh, well, I don't need help anymore.
