cabbo
Hello all. A few days ago, while sifting through the thick marsh of mods that this site would be, if it were a landmass, I got to thinking that it would be great if there was a mod that allowed the player to participate in the Tourney at Harrenhal. This needs a bit of exposition, I think. The Tourney at Harrenhal was an event that took place in the world which the 'Song of Ice and Fire' (Game of Thrones) series is set in. No spoilers, don't worry. It happens pre-G.O.T., and is a precursor to the war which won Robert, the king at the start of the series, his throne. It was, essentially, the grand-daddy of all tourneys in which the best knights in all the land kicked the crap out of each other for some moolah. My idea was to make a mod which would allow the player to participate by finding and reading an in-game book titled 'A Game of Thrones'. The player would then be teleported to Harrenhal and entered into the tourney as a mystery knight. They would get to fight one-on-one and in a free-for-all melee with characters such as Rhaegar Targaryen and Arthur Dayne (unless my SOIF history's rusty, but whoever faught at the tourney, anyway), who could pretty much KO 'Muhammad I'm Hard Bruce Lee' with a pinkie. In the end the player would have had fun playing through some Song of Ice and Fire lore, gained exp and maybe, depending on how real I wanted the mod to be, earned some money and new equipment. Problem is, I cannot mod. There is no way in hell that I'd be capable of making this mod a reality, unfortunately. So, in the interest of not letting what I thought was a pretty good idea die while it's still just a twinkle in my eye, I'm posting the idea up here in the hopes that someone with a bit more know-how can make it for me. In a nut-shell, I'm lazy. Feel free to use this idea without crediting me, because it's not really my idea at all. Credit George R.R. Martin. I'd be happy just playing the damn thing. Peace. P.S. I said No Spoilers in the description, and you wouldn't want to make me a liar, would you?
