[LE] Yet Unsolved CK Crash

Hello.

 

I have used the creation kit in the past without any fuss, but a new issue has arisen. I have searched the web and various forums for days, and no one else seems to have this issue.

 

The issue is as follows:

 

When I attempt to load any files, the Creation Kit immediately crashes. it doesn't just freeze, the program actually crashes. I have tried even just loading Skyrim.esm alone, but it still crashes. I tried loading Skyrim.esm with Update.esm, still no change. I have made the appropriate edits to my SkyrimEditor.ini file to allow multiple master loads and add the DLC to the archive, but the DLC aren't involved here anyways. I even made an edit I found in a YouTube video to fix a supposed audio issue that can crash the CK. Still no fix. I have verified the local files of both Skyrim and CK within steam. Again, no fix.

 

I did have this issue in the past, and I solved it by verifying the local files of Skyrim, then running the game through the vanilla launcher (not SKSE), which reset the windows registry files for the game (if I recall correctly). The Creation Kit started up smoothly after that, and I even used it multiple times since then.

 

I have installed multiple new mods since then, so if requested for further assistance, I will post my load order.

 

All I want to do right now is edit the appearance of an NPC from another mod, so if anyone can recommend a different program that can do that, that will work just as well. I do have TES5EDIT, but I don't believe that can edit the appearance of actors.

Okay, after simply waiting a day, the Creation Kit seems to start up fine...

 

Perhaps the computer going into sleep mode did something...?

 

This program truly is strange...
