SotN all the way!

I find it hard to believe that through five pages of classic gaming no one has posted Symphony of the Night! Or at least one of the original Castlevanias. Symphony, I believe is one of the best games created. I admit, it owes a lot to Metroid, which was also a seriously great game. But I have always been more attracted to the medieval/sword swinging games, as opposed to shooter/sci-fi types. Also, I have had extreme fascination in all things vampire (don't sigh, I know I'm not alone) since I saw Interview at a young age. But getting back to the point, SotN had such diversity in weapons, armor, magic, etc. I have played through fully at least sixty or seventy times over the years and find new things still. So please, someone out there tell me you agree that SotN is one of the best games ever! I'll fell much better thanks!

I was so addicted this back in the day. It was one of the first games that you play over and over and over and still see different stuff every time, a new secret room or some new sword that had a weird enchantment on it. Then the ultimate twist of the time, the coop-de-gracie (<-- that's a Bugs Bunny joke), going back and playing as Richter! I was always a fan of CastleVania, but as far as I'm concerned, none of the newer ones ever got close SotN. I can remember playing for so long that I would dream about it when I went to sleep. (sigh) Nostalgia.

Thank you! I think the most interesting part was thinking you were finished, then telling a friend "I can't believe you don't even fight Dracula at the end!". Only to have them reply, "Dude, you're an idiot, you only finished half of the game!". Finding out even after playing it for 20+ hours, that there was an entire other castle to take on, full of the classic Castlevania mosters was so cool.

I'm glad that this game holds fond memories for you too WM.

P.S. You are scary!

I love SOTN. It's probably one of my favorite console action games. I love the RPG elements and like always, the art is top-notch!
