[IDEA/REQ] Combat overhaul - pain and suffering - Finish him!

In terms of real life fighting, most fights last longer then a few swings unless its a decapitation.

What I would like to see, is longer fights.. but longer fights done correctly.. here is an example of how I would adjust the fights.

Increase the hitpoints of all Humanoid NPC's.. and for each 10% of damage you deal to that NPC, he slows down.. however, as he slows down, increasing their duribility, that way... it almost requires a final "kill shot" or finishing move to put them away for good...

lets say the enemy NPC has 50 hit points left, they should still be on the ground either trying to crawl away, or still trying to come after you, depending on the random AI etc.. it will also give you the chance to spare someone from death.

Knockdowns should be added!

Fights would be longer, battles would be much more realistic and taken more seriously for EACH person you face.

As of now, you run around.. slashing a few times, they float to the ground like a feather and you KNOW they arnt coming back up... We all know a life spark his harder to kill then that.. Yes I understand, this could make fights more violent especially adding pain and suffering sounds etc... But in the end, it would make combat a lot more serious and real.

would like a mod like this too on all humanoids (you included). since i made a break back into good old days of oblivion and i got into a fight. i noticed at the third swing.. this guy hasnt even lost 20% of his health, while in skyrim he would have been dead.

they say that the ppl of skyrim are hardy but i really think they are pussies if they die that fast compared to that bandit form 200 years ago,, no wonder the aldmeri kicked their ass

and before you say increase difficulty its not that that is the issue. the isue i have is that fights are too short overall on 1 end or the other i can understand that some one dies fast if you stab em in the back while they arent prepared (trauma + chock)

but if im going toe to toe with a soldier i expect him to take more then 2 hits WHEN HIS SHIELD IS BLOCKING before dying.

Really ? In how many REAL fights have you been involved ? Or at list seen ? And I am not talking about that girly dance who "fighters" are doing in rings ...

Real fights are very violent, messy and short ... I've seen this couple times

Honestly, you stab someone with a knife IRL and unless they are really combat-experienced (and sometimes even then), they will go into shock and lay there.

IDK why you think a fight happening like in skyrim should last way longer with swords and greatswords.

You hit someone once with a greatsword - it's over.
