Good Intentions/Revealing the Unseen Bug

I have encountered a really annoying bug that is preventing me from completing the college of winterhold questline, I finished Good Intentions, where I talk to the augur of dunlain and return to savos aren and he tells me to go see Mirabelle about the Staff of magnus. Good Intentions is in my completed quests section but Revealing the unseen never starts and if I talk to Mirabelle the staff of magnus isn't even a topic, I have tried talking to Savos Aren again, and the Dunlain of augur and everybody around the college but nothings working. I also tried SetStage Mg06 10 but that didn't work either. Am I just screwed and should just forget about ever completing the college of winterhold quests? Or is there a solution I don't know about. (by the way my game is fully updated and its the pc version)

do you still have a save before you talked to savos?

 

bethesda seems to be notorious for having random failures in event activation. all you have to do is backup and try to start the event again.

if that fails repeatedly then it might be one or more of your installed mods.

I've heard that dovakiin hideout can cause problems with the start of "The Way of the Voice" quest after you give farengar the dragonstone.

 

if everything stills fails, that means that, yes, you just got screwed by the game and will have to start a new file if you ever hope to continue.

it happened to me, that's how I know.

Damn this sucks, i have done so much since the last save, like literally i thought the quest had activated and i went and finished the companions and thieves guild and came back to the college and realized this....ill try disabling the dovakhin hideout and see if it works, thanks for the advice!
