Hello everyone,

 

I've got a major question since I'm working with water cells. I'm trying to create a mod which allows boats to float on Skyrim's Water cells, but I don't know the process on how that is done. I've been looking through Creation kit.com and wiki's, but can't find references on how this process is done. I tried to copy the boats out in solitude to my original boat, but the boat itself sinks when it is used.

I'm trying to turn a horse into a boat and am trying to get it to float. However... Instead of staying on water. The little bugger likes to sink and even worse my character doesn't ride with the boat.

 

The reason I'm doing this is because if I can figure out how to make the boat float. I should be able to start working with patrols and a few other assets. But first things is first. I've got to get the basics.

 

Does anyone have any references on how boats stay in place and above the water cells. I noticed a little green placer which was attached to the bottom of the big boats and the bottom of the little boats. Are these placers what Skyrim uses to keep boats above water and floating?

 

Or is this more of a scripting issue I'll have to learn to write and use the boat as a object reference ID to attach it to keep the boat above the water and the player in place?
