Dual-Wielding True Animation Fix

hey guys,

 

So, does it bother you that when you're dual-wielding, you only sheath the weapon in the right hand, while the weapon in the other hand just disappears? Would it be possible to add a sheathing-unsheathing animation for the weapon in the left hand?

 

I've seen a lot of people complaining about this, I can't comprehend the Bethesda devs.. with the immense detail they've poured into Skyrim, that they wouldn't add an animation for the left hand. they must have ran into some serious problems, or didn't even try.

 

It would be cool if you were able to choose where the weapon is located on your character, i.e., one 1H sword on your back, and another on your hip. or a 1H sword on your hip, and a dagger on the other, or just simple a sword on both hips. (I'm not necessarily requesting this, just throwing out ideas :) )

 

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, and if anyone has already made something like this, a link would be greatly appreciated!

Does this really annoy you this much? Doesn't seem to bother me....

 

Well everyone is different, I've read about a lot of other people being annoyed with this as well.

 

But... it sure seems like no one is interested in looking into this... guess I'll have to learn to use the sdk

It bothers me to no end, and I cant even believe that A) Bethesda even left it out in the first place, and B) That with the Creation Kit out as long as it has been, that no one has fixed this issue. I think it adds to it much more when I'm dual wielding and both weapons are on my hip. I mean, how do I fit both in one scabbard? SOMEONE has to do some thing soon I'd imagine. I cant see it being ignored for much longer. Someone has to be good enough to figure it out.

Its not being ignored, just not easy to fix. The problem is that every weapon has a set anim type, if two weapons have share the same anim type the second one equip will replace the model of the first one even though they are both equipped. What is needed is to figure out how to add new weapon anim types into the creation kit. It's something we are trying to tackle in the mod Armed to the Teeth, but its being a pain. Edited by mergweq

Yes thats a problem i dont even know how the dev team alowwed to be something like this... and u could use more attacks with the 2 weapons at once.

And the left hand only has 3 attacks, other problem.

 

Ya, they sure don't allow a lot of customization when it comes to expanding the animations.

Bethesda jus needs to fix dual wielding all around. Skyrim is great, but it's shameful that dual wielders can be so limited. But we all know Bethesda will most likely do nothing and leave it up to the modders. mergweq, you're work is very impressive, but hopefully a more user friendly version will eventually be possible. Either way, your mod is by far the best way to do this as of now. Kudos to you.
