windwalker71
I know it's possible, but i don't know how so I would like to see a mod that resizes several items in Skyrim. For some reason the idea that BIGGER is better is lost on me,but the guys at Bethesda surely believe in this out dated line of thinking. I am of the mind that crude items should be big and clunky and the more quality items should be smaller. Potions. One gulp and their gone, yet i see a flask the size of a two liter of pepsi. The weaker potions come in these tiny little bottles and the high end verson comes in this HUGE flask. Why?Ingots are roughly the size of 'Good Standard' size bars of gold which are roughly 27 lbs yet i can only make one necklace or a couple of rings? It takes one ingot to make a dagger? What about all that wasted metal? Let alone that the laws of physics do not apply when a one pound hunk of ore is used to create a two pound weapon, but don't get me started there. What I would like to see here are half size and quarter size bars. I can use the CK to create the recipies, leveled lists and all that jazz. So i can handle that part myself. I just need the resized testures and meshes. On a side note, what is a good program to use to extract textures and meshes from the Skyrim BSAs?
huntsman2310
The Nexus Mod Manager is a very little known program that can do this. Or the Fallout Mod Manager, or the Oblivion Mod Manager. As for your request you can do all of that in the CK. You don't need to make any new meshs or textures. Basically all you'd have to do is edit every single bar and potion in the world by scaling its size down a bit.
Werne
As for your request you can do all of that in the CK. You don't need to make any new meshs or textures. Basically all you'd have to do is edit every single bar and potion in the world by scaling its size down a bit. Or you can simply scale the mesh in nifskope, much less work and no conflicts with other mods. Also, in CK you can't scale potions that are inside a chest or in leveled lists, only the ones that are placed in the world and you'd need to scale them one by one. By the way, NMM can't extract meshes and textures, you'll need BSA extractor or FOMM to do that. Edited February 22, 2012 by Werne
windwalker71
Thanks but as per your line of reasoning it would be much simpler to down scale items in game using the console. What i want to do is be able to have down scaled meshes and textures so that i can do an over haul on the smithing system. Your ideas really wouldn't work for what i want to do,but thanks anyways for your input.I tired to extract a few nifs using the OBMM but i get an error when trying to open them in NifScope. Something about incorrect version of a file header. Edited February 23, 2012 by windwalker71
