i got DAI some time ago and never got around to playing it, well i got time now and wanted to know that mods are good to have for some body who has not played/beat the game yet. also are the DLC worth it and if they are where in the story line will they come up? (i don't have the dlc but might get them if there worth it) i'm mostly looking for mods that add more gameplay/balance like spells, items, quests or enny thing to make the game last longer. also is there things i need to look out for in the game like unmarked quests?

You'll definitely want to get the Trespasser DLC, since it's the epilogue to the game. That requires that you play it post-game. You can't do anything after playing Trespasser, so be sure to finish everything you need before starting it. Descent and Jaws of Hakkon can be played during the game (20+ for JoH), or post-game, whichever you prefer. They're all good, with new environments, so I'd suggest getting them.

As for mods, most aesthetic things will be personal preference, so you'll just want to browse.

The two mods I recommend as absolutely essential are No Dirt Buildup on Pants, which eliminates a poorly implemented method to show dirt and mud on your armor after you've been wandering about for a while; and my own font mod, which changes the main font to something you may find more readable -- pick one that works for you and enjoy.

I'd suggest that you play the game with hardly any mods at first, because you don't know what you might want to change unless you play it for yourself.

There are no mods for any "game-breaking" issues... Because there aren't any.

I totally agree with nightscrawl, play unmodded the first time!

And while here's the link to the Nexus' DA:I mods page, as nightcrawl also said, they're mostly aesthetic/cosmetic changes.

Personally, I use the "Quicker Looting" mod, and have experimented with "No Fog of War".

If you want to have a romance with one of the NPCs who would normally reject you because of your gender, (either way) there are mods for that!
