Arneercool
I have returned to modding with a vengeance, gotta get my hands on some of those creation club money...just kidding. Now, for the serious part.I have downloaded and installed Champollion, Creation Kit, Fo4edit, script extender, loot, nmm, Merged plugins, messed around with it, f***ed up and started over. Trice since last night. Managed to make a functional levellist patch in foedit, yay! 1. Should i invest the time in wrye and mo2 at this point, or are those programs for those that have figured out all the other stuff first? As i understand it, those programs are really advanced level and still has a few kinks you need to be smart to figure out, and i'm not that smart. 2. Is the process of merging sometimes as simple as dumping one file on top of another and overwrite? ( Like hotfixes to mainfiles?) I made some mighty fine drapes work in the workshop this way, but i am not sure if i missed something and i only tested for 30 minutes. 3. I want to make "real" merges, where everything is incorporated, everything useless thrown away, no random clutter and full integration, as i understand it "merged plugins" does not do this, it "simply" stacks them in the most logical and less prone to conflict order and shoves them under one roof. Right? But how would i go about making solid merges of mid sized files? You just need to point me to the program/s and that one good tutorial and i will try to figure the rest out. 4. Merging files mostly consisting of textures? What/how? If someone would leave the first 2-3 steps here, i am sure i could figure the rest out myself. This feels like it is right in front of me, i'm just to big a baboon to figure it out. Lastly, i can't be the only one a bit annoyed with the lack of info on this topic. The info is there, but it is bits and pieces all over the place, and i have a nagging suspicion that some of you are misleading on purpose, for God knows what reason. But a big shoutout to those of you that has put time and effort into making tutorials, you know who you are and you f***ing rock. And also a big thanks to all the modders out there for inspiring me to make your mods less shitt...JUST KIIDDING. If anything is at play here it is my ocd. Some of you have talent i can't even begin to comprehend. Thanks. And have a nice day. Edit.Ups, wrong topic. Sorry.
