nightscrawl
Most aesthetic mods are down to personal preference, but I will recommend a few quality of life mods that I think are essential to keep your sanity during gameplay. Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (this is required for Alternate Start). You don't have to play with this -- I've gone without on a few occasions and everything worked out all right. But it is recommended. Alternate Start - Live Another Life. Even if you take the default prisoner opening, this allows you to customize your character before the game even starts; I recommend it for that alone. Better Dialogue Controls and Better MessageBox Controls are a MUST for any Skyrim play as they fix the wonky menus. The Choice Is Yours allows you to turn down quests you have no intention of completing so you don't have unwanted quests hanging around in your log, taunting you with their presence. Any mod that adds customization to the favorite menu. I like Qwix Favorite Menu, but there are several to choose from. Some sort of UI replacement. The main Sky UI doesn't work in SE, but you can download version 2.2 (in old versions) and edit it yourself to eliminate problems by following this guide. It's easy to follow, I promise! If you don't want to mess around with editing Sky UI 2.2, or just want something more minimal, you can use QD Inventory, which is what I'm using. I'm using the Oldrim version in SE and have had no problems. There IS a version for the SE, but it's been uploaded and "ported" by a person who ported a few Oldrim mods, doesn't support them, and has turned off comments. I'm not going to bother using that version when the Oldrim version works just fine. It's just a swf menu edit, so it's easily removed if you don't like it, just like texture edits. And finally, A Quality World Map. I'm using the Classic version from Oldrim in SE because I like that version better in appearance. The Classic version is also only textures, while the newer version has scripts and an esp, so if you don't want that, use the Classic. Here is the SE version if you prefer the Vivid appearance and don't care about an esp. (If you're going to use Classic, use the one from the Oldrim page, as the SE page one is repackaged with an esp.) For aesthetic mods, I only have a few general suggestions. Noble Skyrim is my favorite overall texture mod. Even if I didn't use anything else, the landscape textures are my preference over any other landscape mod I've used. Both Oldrim and SE versions are on the Oldrim page. Rustic Clothing Book of Silence armor and weapons. Do NOT install the optional extras like Skyforged weapons, differently ebony, glass variants, and so on, as those require an esp that has not been updated. Just use the main texture replacers; they will work in SE as well. Have fun!
Ceasirius
I reccomend "Solitude Expansion" as I made it :D :D :D No I am kidding but if you are looking for an expansion for Solitude I think that you might like it. Other than that, the unofficial patch, frostfall, iNeed and immersive weap/armour are the top for me :smile:hi cant find immersive weapons on SSE,or does the oldrim version work.thanks You are actually right now that I have double-checked my load order - and here I was living under the impression I actually have it  - although i did find the armours - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3479/? "The following from Arthmoor:" All of Arthmoors mods together is a great place to start. I have them all. He's a true giant of Nexus modding.I took a look at his mods, you're more than right. He isn't just a giant, his mods are excellent to be honest. I couldn't find the friendlier mudcrabs mod, maybe the author took it down. I reccomend "Solitude Expansion" as I made it :D :D :D No I am kidding but if you are looking for an expansion for Solitude I think that you might like it. Other than that, the unofficial patch, frostfall, iNeed and immersive weap/armour are the top for me :smile:I never played Solitude to be honest, but I'll download it as well considering that I will go through it after finishing up in the base game. :smile:EDIT: I'm so sorry I thought you mean solstheim when you talked about your mod! I'll take a look at your mod still since Solitude is a beautiful city, will it be incompatible with any other mods by any chance? If anyone else decides to contribute to the thread, I already have the unofficial patch, I can't play Skyrim without it. :tongue:Also, what do you think would be the effect of CBBE and SKSE if they were successfully ported over to SE? Faster porting of most mods? It would be nice if we get them both, but we don't want to pressure the devs. It should be compatible with most mods out there, there are a few exeptions, but I have made patches for most of them by now Edit: Update on immersive armour Edited July 11, 2017 by Ceasirius
