Looking for a tutorial on REMOVING items from levelled lists

I'm having a duplicate weapon issue in my game. I have two mods that add desert eagles into my game. One inferior to the other. I also have another mod (cant remember what one atm I have a lot of them) that adds battle rifles and .223 pistols into the game. Exact same as the GRA versions but they spawn on NPC's and don't have that annoying (GRA) prefix. So If I can remove the deagle from the lists can I do so with the GRA battle rifles and 5.56 pistols?

All tutorials I've managed to find on youtubby so far only cover TES5edit which seems to be similar if not identical to FNVedit, but nothing specifically on removing things from the lists. They only cover adding items to them. I've already tried experimenting myself by simply right-clicking and deleting these items in FNVedit but that instead made the main menu no longer appear on the title screen. So my game literally became unplayable. Problem is fixed now but I don't want a repeat.

Maybe its just that I'm not looking hard enough but I sadly don't have much spare time to put towards modding so that's why I'm asking for help here.

If you haven't yet guessed I am rather new to modding

If anyone can link me a relevant tutorial or just tell me how to do it themselves then please do!

You will need to identify which levelled lists are adding the unwanted duplicates to your game. You can do this in FNVEdit by selecting the duplicate weapon and checking the Referenced By tab - this will show all the records that use the weapon record. Copy those records to a new plugin, and then replace references to the duplicate with the original. For example, with the Battle Rifle and .223 Pistol, you would just replace those references with the GRA records. I presume you're using WMX? There's a DLC Merged patch that should address the issue with the duplicate GRA weapons.

I'm using TTW (probably should've mentioned that before) and the TTW version of WMX already has the DLC patch merged into it. But it doesn't seem to be doing what you say it should be. The regular patches are incompatible with the TTW version so I cant install that esp separately sadly.

Seems easy enough, but I've never made a plugin before. And would the reverse be possible of replacing the GRA versions with the WMX ones? they are the exact same as one another but the WMX versions dont have that annoying (GRA) prefix

I don't use TTW so I wouldn't be able to tell, and I could be wrong about the WMX DLC patch (I thought the WMX-made records were so that non-DLC users had access to the Battle Rifle and .223 Pistol, I know that the former was meant to be in the game at some point). But in that case, you would have to make your own patch and ensure it's at the bottom of the load order. It's easy to copy a record into a new file in FNVEdit. And yes, the reverse is possible; you can replace the GRA records with the WMX versions if you prefer. Failing that, you could also remove the GRA tag entirely from the weapon name (though you will still have two separate records for the same weapon).
