Skrotetor
Hi every1I was wondering if someone, somewhere, somehow has put together a guide or some tutorial to understand how to install all the texture related patches and mods and whatsoever. The problem is that up to now, I don't know if I had installed everything in the correct way.I currently have my Official DLC Texture from Beth and I've downloaded today the Skyrim HD - 2k FUll 1.5.I've followed the instructions and now I've all the 11 .esp(s) lock and loaded in my plugins list. At this point I don't know if, in order to make the Official Texture work with this awesome mod, I've to modify again the Skyrimprefs.ini in the [Archive] section where there's the famous line that says HighResTexturePack01.bsa, and bla bla bla.Do I have to delete what I entered before? Do I have to leave it modified as it was?Help guys! Please!! :DThanks
Sunnie
Unless you load the official HR texture packs as Archives, none of the other texture mods will show. It's an easy fix though. Open the Skyrim.ini (in your doc folder) and replace the [Archive] section with the following: [Archive]sResourceArchiveList=Skyrim - Misc.bsa, Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Skyrim - Textures.bsa, HighResTexturePack01.bsa, HighResTexturePack02.bsa, Skyrim - Interface.bsa, Skyrim - Animations.bsa, Skyrim - Meshes.bsa, Skyrim - Sounds.bsasResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Voices.bsa, Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa Save the ini and close the text editor. Now open your mod manager or launcher and disable the HR texture pack erfs (both of them). Done, now you will have all the official HR textures and anything you install as an override will work. You post is a bit old, hope you read this anyway ;) just wanted to check if i understood you correctly: 1) by changing the skyrim.ini as you recommend the bsa's get loaded BEFORE any other plugins/mods, so they are the primary files that get overridden by mods/plugins? 2) What is a good modder alternative / enhancement for the official HR Texture Pack from Bethesda? I sometimes get CTDs when moving to fast, guess its the larger textures... 3) there are TWO texture optimizers on Nexus that reduce texture sizes. would you recommend that? EDIT: just added your archive recommendation to the skyrim.ini and my characters and some NPCs heads VANISHED!
