odd patterns on surface of edited body mesh

ok, this is a bit embarrasing to admit but......

open file in nifscope - spells - batch - update tangent space.

was indeed the fix for this.

Noob mistake was:

working on the files in a seperate desktop folder, making the changes, save and double click the .nif to view in geck.

I believe:

this does not preview the file in desktop folder but actually the file of the same name in the fallout game folder.
