BigKnifeKiller
Hi, I just recently started to mod Fallout New Vegas after a year or so. I installed all of my mods and started the game and successfully loaded in. I went to check MCM, and it said it was missing or something very close to that. I simply went and redownloaded the mod, then installed it. Now whenever I attempt to start the game, it crashes after the Oblivion Gaming screen. Can anyone help troubleshoot? dubiousintent
Pin down exactly what the message is in MCM. Then, please see 'The Mod Configuration Manager (MCM)' section in the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article. -Dubious-
BigKnifeKiller
"The Mod Configuration Menu cannot access its menu files either the files are missing , an error has occurred with NVSE plugin, or a firewall/UAC is preventing access. You may need to re-install the mod, update 32-bit visual c++ 2010 redistribute package, or change your firewall/UAC settings." This is the message that occurred when I tried to access MCM. I updated the 32-bit visual before I reinstalled the mod so that wasn't the issue, and I already messed with my firewall settings in the past when I used to mod. Then once I reinstalled the mod it simply won't let the game load in. I checked for the duplicate lines of '<include src="MCM\MCM.xml"/>' in all of my menu files and found none. I'm also using NMM as my installer, could that cause an issue with it?
dubiousintent
Don't use NMM to install NVSE. It doesn't put the files in the correct location. Please see the 'Checklist item 4' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. The other possibility is if you installed Steam to it's default location under the "C:\Program Files" folder tree. If so, please read the "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article in my signature and move it. -Dubious-
BigKnifeKiller
I have NVSE and had it installed prior to attempting to install MCM. I did getnvseversion and everything and it worked, and I simply can't get the MCM to work. Now it just crashes the game before it loads in. And I didn't use NMM to install NVSE, I did it manually and watched a guide to make sure I remembered how to do it correctly. I also have Fallout NV on my D:\ Drive rather than my C:, along with many other games that work just fine.
dubiousintent
Try reinstalling MCM using "FOMM - Forked". -Dubious-
BigKnifeKiller
I cannot thank you enough for helping me solve this problem. It worked once I installed it through FOMM and now my game can run! Thank you for the support and patience you have given me to help solve this.
