FUSRODERR
Hello everyone! I was trying to install mods that require Dawnguard, when LOOT told me that I was actually missing the file for Dawnguard. I find this odd, as I have Dawnguard bought and Steam says that Dawnguard is installed. I have two questions to ask...1) How do I get the Dawnguard.esm file back?2) What could I do to prevent this from happening again? Some backstory. I was modding a few weeks ago, before I found Nexus, and was having game-crashing problems. I eventually got frustrated and deleted the Skyrim folder from Windows. (It is installed in the default path.) After reinstall, everything was working fine. But, when I tried to install the Faction Crossbows Mod and Crossbow Bolts for All, LOOT warned me that both of them needed a missing master file- Dawnguard.esm. I bought Dawnguard over a year ago, and a cursory examination shows that, according to Steam, Dawnguard is Installed. Thanks in Advance!FusRoDerr
skannerz22
you could ignore it and the mod would still work or you could try doing tes5edit clean of the skyrim fileswatch a tutorial first
FUSRODERR
I managed to solve the issue. The problem was, was that Steam thought Dawnguard was installed when it actually was not. Going into the Properties tab on Steam and asking it to Verify Integrity of Game Files re-installed the missing esm file. Leaving this here so that others who might have problems can look.(I do not know how to mark the topic's header as 'solved.' If I could I would.)
