Karliah Armor 2

What do I need for the Karliah Armor 2 mod to work?

@redcanaan55, it would be best if go to the applicable forum link below, select comments tab, post your question if you want more informed responses.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10386

manual install involves extracting/copying the modder's 'meshes' & textures' folders+contents into '\skyrim\data' including the 'KarliahArmor2.esp' file.

when you launch Skyrim, select 'Data Files' and place a checkmark in the 'Load?' column for the mod.

if you do not have the 'Data Files' menu item available to you or it is greyed out, you'll need to edit your:

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini

add this entry:

[General]

bLoadLooseFiles=1

Also look into NMM (Nexus Mod Manager) available somewhere on this site for a more automated mod management tool.

once in game, according to the modder, you can craft the Karliah armor probably at an anvil with leather & leather strips.

welcome to the nexus forums by the way..

I installed the mod with Nexus manager but its crafting it that is the problem

hi redcanaan, you'll first need 7 Leather and 7 Leather Strips in your inventory (you can craft or buy these items).

activate any blacksmith's anvil, select category 'Misc', you should see 3 Karliah Armor items available for crafting there i think.

You must really want this standalone armor lol, please note, i think Karliah's Armor was pre-enchanted by the modder with

Thief type skills like fortify lockpicking/carrying capacity/pickpocket.

So you will not be able to further customize these items with enchantments more applicable to your character's playing style/role if you wanted to.

I see members asking the author to offer unenchanted version of the pieces so they can customize to their tastes.

(lore: Karliah is a Dunmer member of the Nightingale Sentinels, Skyrim's Thieves Guild..)

if you're really stuck, you can break immersion and cheat using console ' ~ ', i'll go ahead and tell you how since you've been asking so many times.

type HELP KARLIAH, PgUP/PgDn, find the correct ARMO ref ID's for each piece created by the modder (probably something like 2B___); then finally,

PLAYER.ADDITEM <refID> <1>, do this for each piece, you should now see them in your inventory.

this is a cheat and i hope i'm not breaking any forum rules posting it here for you fyi; so, be careful finding/using the correct ref id's for the pieces created by the modder,

the game character Karliah will probably also have armor pieces/weapons/spells using the same naming convention - you cannot use these.

hi, seems like there is somekind of issue either with NMM or the modders install script or some other mod conflicting on your skyrim steam machine redcanaan.

on a (Windows 7) open 'DLCList.tst' located in the SteamApps structure ' %systemdrive%\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Skyrim '

do you see 'KarliahArmor2.esp' listed in DLCList.txt? try adding 'KarliahArmor2.esp' at the end of the list yourself (do not edit 'plugins.txt').

maybe some other crafting mod you have loaded before/after KarliahArmor2.esp is not peacefully co-existing,

troubleshoot by disabling some other crafting mod and/or look into how to adjust the load order of your desired mods.

are you launching Steam Skyrim with local administrator rights?

in your SkyrimPrefs.ini (Libraries\Documents\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim) do you see these entries in there?:

[Launcher]

bEnableFileSelection=1

bLoadLooseFiles=1

have you tried manually copying the modders 'KarliahArmor2.esp' file and 'Textures'/'meshes' folders into your Skyrim DATA folder

and not use NMM for this particular mod?

please test the mod on your machine by using the console as described in the previous 'spoiler' i wrote for you thanks.

redcannan55: "I don't get the misc option when I use the blacksmith forge"

by the way, the 'MISC' category is last category listed after Jewelry in the menu i think -

- you might simply need to use your directional controls to see it on a smaller screen.

also, i use UI mods so i might be seeing the menu organized differently from you.

'SkyUI v2.1 by SkyUI Team', 'QD Inventory v0.235 by Roltak', 'Categorized Favorites Menu v0.1.11.2 by favmenumodder',

'Main Font Replacement v2.0 by Valistar', 'Smaller Cursor v1.0 by Lywald', etc.

let me know how you're doing, let's get this working for you np..

hi, when i'm in the console '~', and enter HELP KARLIAH, console finds a bunch of game objects related to 'karliah',

in my game these are the current ref ID's for modder's armor items:

Armo: (2F000D65) 'Karliah Armor'

Armo: (2F000D66) 'Karliah Boots'

Armo: (2F000D67) 'Karliah Gloves'

so, when you tried to add these via console to your inventory you should've entered:

PLAYER.ADDITEM 2F000D65 1

PLAYER.ADDITEM 2F000D66 1

PLAYER.ADDITEM 2F000D67 1

right? fyi, modded ref ID codes sometimes recompile and get assigned different codes so the ref ID's you see in your game may be different.

if you tried to additem any ref ID's that started with 000D__ or 000E__, these will not work since these are Karliah NPC items and not usable.

confirm NMM placed the modder's texture/meshes in your data folder:

\Skyrim\Data\Meshes\armor\Hentai\Newtype -(9 NIF files).

\Skyrim\Data\textures\armor\Hentai\NewType -(8 DDS files).

if you do not see these then copy them in there yourself.

are you running any other crafting/armor mods that could be disabling the Karliah armor mod redcanaan? what mods do you have now?

are you launching Skyrim with rights as a local administrator?

take a peek at NMM's features/documentation, think there is a TXT log file generated somewhere with status for each plugin/mod.

fyi, i'm too chicken to use NMM yet.. (have about 100 mods manually installed/enabled all from the wonderful Nexus community)

hi, sorry for all these questions lol, are you successfully running any other mods?

if i may ask, what version of Skyrim are you running and have you enabled steam online to update your game with patch v1.4 non-beta yet?

in game press ESC key, you should see version 1.4.21.0.4 i think in the lower left corner in small type.

have you tried troubleshooting by disabling any other mods you installed? specifically, any mod that has anything to do with crafting/armor.

perhaps you may have a corrupted download of the Karliah armor mod?

do you see the vanilla game MISC category listed at the blacksmith forge?

not sure if this karliah armor requires any higher level crafting skill, i do not use it.

what level is your character and have you ever crafted anything at the forge before?

are you launching the game as local administrator?

i've heard of some issues with the game engine not being able to access certain folders due to user rights.

(right click the icon, select run as administrator). what OS are you using?

are you sure you edited the correct 'SkyrimPrefs.ini' in My Documents..

in 'Skyrim.ini' try adding this entry in there also:

[General]

bLoadLooseFiles=1
