Beeskee
Minutemen + Nuka Raiders Formal Alliance Description: Preston Garvey your supposed Super Best Friend gives you a damn minute to explain your idea to use the Nuka World Raiders as a force for good in the Commonwealth. TL;DR: Preston Garvey should not hate you for planting a flag. It is understandable that he would hate you if you attack a settler-inhabited settlement, whether Minuteman or not, but he shouldn't care if you wipe out some place inhabited by generic Raiders or radiation monsters, or pretend to subjugate a vassal settlement that you already control. (or staffed with robots) Basically, this should be the "common sense" mod, along with a more formal alliance between Nuka World and Minutemen/commonwealth settlers. After the player gets the message Preston Hates You (or after you become Overboss but before you claim any settlements, for folks who know what is coming - but the "hates you" message lets you know to go talk to Preston so it should stay unless it is replaced by a quest message) the player should be able to go talk to Preston and explain what they intend. You are the General, after all. IF the player chooses the Alliance option, Preston should go back to close to the prior relationship level and able to be a companion again. It should also not force this arrangement on players, if they want to tell Preston to go **** his hypocritical self and that they're going to be real raiders, that's fine. Just in case the mod evolves and includes some other features that folks want. But c'mon Preston not everyone wants to be a damn farmer, you need some Common Sense (mod) XD The DLC already accounts for what happens if the player is not the general of the minutemen so the mod should not interfere with that. The raiders should likewise be able to be convinced (not hard) to leave alone folks like traders, settlers, provisioners, minutemen, and anyone else the player is allied with. Besides, raiding other raiders, supermutants, etc, is much more interesting and profitable. Threats, subterfuge, or a huge stack of caps to each raider boss should convince them. Leveled, maybe? 1k to 10k to each boss, depending - personally in my game right now I'd easily be capable of offering them each 10k caps, a full suit of max power armor, and a personal robot servant built to their specifications. lol. That's a little overboard if someone got into nuka world early tho. The mod should be friendly to all player levels. Regarding DLC, there should be no faction penalty (or cost) for oppressing a vassal settlement full of robots that you control. Accidentally selecting an allied settlement for an attack to make them vassals in the menu (if it can't outright be disabled) should go like you would expect it to in reality as opposed to fallout's usual cockup cascade (settlers say hello allies, the robots wave and say hello Mr/Ms Owner, nobody shoots anyone unless you start it) - electing to bribe the vassal settlement when there are only robots that you built should also go exactly as expected. ("I order you to do this." "Yes Owner.") Bribing an allied settlement should make more contextual sense ("Here's some caps, just pretend they're big scary raiders.") The player should also retain control of the workshop at allied vassal settlements. I know other mods do this too, but to avoid conflicts this should handle it if possible. Attacking a 0-population settlement (that the player previously emptied via nonviolent means) should go as expected, no summoning minutemen to defend it. If the player DOES do bad things then they should be penalized as normal. Attacking allies, attacking non-minutemen settlements that are inhabited by regular settlers, etc. but Preston and the Minutemen shouldn't care about a few raider camps and a few settlements pretending to be subjugated. (on the other hand, taking most of the commonwealth for the raiders should piss off the Minutemen - coding-wise you don't have to count cities, just check for the perks that are gained, so probably at 3 cities Preston should say "Okay that's enough raider territory" and at 8 or 9 or whatever the last perk is, he should be pissed) -- the mod should allow players to move existing raider flags or change faction flags once spoiler event happens with no faction penalty. basically no penalty for placing or moving a flag until after you've hit the max raider settlements. In general, the mod should apply a bit of common sense to interactions while providing a mechanism for a formal alliance between nuka world raiders and the factions that the player is allied with, and optionally unify some of the official DLC a bit better (mainly automatron and nuka world) One thing:None of the nuka raiders ever seem to acknowledge if the player is the general of the Minutemen. I mean I'm wearing the Minuteman outfit, even, Gage has seen me out of my power armor. XD Did I miss this interaction, maybe? Is that even scripted? Maybe I should put on the Minuteman power armor in addition to the Minuteman outfit, and take him on a tour of the Castle. XDI'm still laughing over this game situation.
