searlasgairid Posted February 24, 2012 Share Posted February 24, 2012 Levelling in Skyrim is so much better than in Oblivion but still unbalanced. I simply fail to see why ALL skills contribute to levelling up my character. I am a warrior. Despite this, I rely a lot on potion making, enchanting items and selling the stuff to make some money. As a result, I am now Level 15 and lack some serious fighting skils. I want to gain levels because I bash heads and use my shield timely. If a leveled critter is charging towards me neither "Super-Lockpicking" nor "Uber-Enchanting" nor "Power-Speechcrafting" will do me any good. This was very elegantly solved in Morrowind with the class system and major/minor skills. Can anyone point me to an existing mod or give me a tip on how to mod this myself? Is this done via creation kit? (I know there are mods who re-spec skills and mods who slow down character levelling but that's not what I am looking for. I am looking for a way to tell the game only to take certain chosen skills into contribution when levelling up.) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Why would I be a master of swords (in a minor skill) but only be level 1 because it didnt contribute to my level <3 Though I would love a mod like oblivion XP for skyrim. What you say makes sense, Still, I feel "punished"... I gained 5 levels because of my pickpocketing, sneaking, potion making and enchanting and now I am sent into the wilderness with my destruction, one handed, block and light armor skills exactly the same as before I gained the 5 levels... that hardly seems correct... (sigh) I thought I could get by without micromanaging the levelling up process like I had to in Oblivion... guess I was a bit naive... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
