Dumbbus
Well I have gotten a Mod that is a re-texture there is no esp, just a DDS file and I know it's not the Mods fault that I don't know how to get in inside my game. I just don't know how to use a DDS file I have it in what is suppose to be the Folder Tree that the game uses for the item it replaces in my FO3 Data Folder. But when I load up the game and pick up the Item it effects I still get the Vanilla Item In game with no noticeable changes, and I know this is probably my own fault because I think I'm suppose to do something else to get it to work, But I don't know, and I've spent like half the day trying to find info about how to use it but I have had no luck.. The author just said it was a re texture and that was it, and I didn't want to complain in the comments.. so thought maybe some one could link to a doc, tutorial, or forum post on how I can use a DDS file for Fallout 3 and what it does and doesn't do, Please.. I'll probably have to get the Gimp, I watched a video about it but I use BAE to look inside the BSA files and I just used the Geck to find were the item was reference that it replaced but couldn't find anywhere to add a DDS in there for Armors. So put it in the Data directory of my game with the referenced tree folders how ever that still didn't work.
gandalftw
Check here,http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/How_to_extract_BSA_files_using_FO3_Archive you can extract the entire folder move it to your Data folder then find and overwrite the dds you want to replace. If you have the folder structure correct it should work. Dumbbus
Thank you I'll give that a read I went ahead and got the Gimp too, will probably need it later. it was no big problem though I'm just brainless sometimes "All The Time". it was Archive Invalidation I thought I had that set but didn't for Fallout 3, that and it was a female Armor and I was using a Male Char I could have changed the f to m. But It works. I going to endorse the mod right away.. All the Best..
