It is common in Bethesda's games for a triggered event to not be fixed by a patch. That is, if your house was "messed up" before the patch, the patch is unlikely to fix your problem. If a quest was completed but "broken," it's unlikely that patch will let you successfully complete that quest. It is regrettable that this bug happened to the most desirable home in Vanilla Skyrim.
