wolron
I had a very strange thing happen today. I was east of Caldera tracking down the guys that stole that poor (rich) woman's family heirlooms. It was night time. I decided to switch out of first person mode and try the camera behind me for a change. It was a very good experience for a while. It really looked neat to have my character silhouetted against a couple large full moons as I was climbing across the hills to the east of Caldera. Then I was attacked by a cliff racer. Big surprise huh! I killed it and was pleased that the combat worked rather well in that camera mode. Then I went on a few feet and knew that another cliff racer was near because I heard the usual screech. I looked around. No cliff racer in sight. Then I did a complete 360 degree turn. Still screeching, but no cliff racer. Then the son of gun bit me. And then it bit me again. But it wasn't there!!! At least I could not see it. Knowing that this could result in my demise (I am on full difficulty, so even at level 17, a cliff racer can be lethal if left alone for a while). So I started swinging my two handed Dwarven sword in all directions. Finally I saw a spot of blood (Invisible cliff racer blood must become visable when it is shed!). Then another spot of blood. I knew that I had him and sure enough after a couple more swings he died. But there was no body to dispose of so I went into the smuggler's cave that was the object of my search. When I was finished there and came out, I found a fully visible and very dead cliff racer laying outside the cave. So, is this something that happens when you go into the "view from behind" mode? I sill prefer the first person view, so I will probably go back to it for the rest of the game, but it would be interesting to know if this is a common problem, a problem with the view from behind mode, or just a once in a lifetime occurence. Smashy
Most definately not from swiching camera veiw, the most comon answer to this is what mods are you running with the game.... or its a terrible glich, and to anyone who would even imagine makeing invisible cliff racers... you are a sick and twisted humanbeing, its bad enough when you can see them... but if they have that kind of upperhand, thats just not right, but anyways like i was saying look through what mods your running(if any), or if thats not the case its most likely a glich in the game, so no worries swiching camera veiw wont make enemies invisible, i swich back and forth all the time, not once have i ever "seen" such a case. ohGr
ahh, third person view, i avoid that, the characters look terrible, but the creature shadows are pretty got for an early 2002 game (or was it 2001).ive come across this as well, without bloodmoon, i was wandering around, staring at the pixel shader my new radeon 9000 can do, something hits me from behind, turn around, nothing, im almost dead, i start to swing around, and it was a golden saint for some reason, because it seemed it fell through the map, teleported to the top of the map....and fell, but was visible this time.i dont know what causes this, but ever since i got bloodmoon back on, it stopped occouring. wolron
I have both bloodmoon and Tribunal loaded, but have not started them yet on this game. By the way, note that the first cliff racer was fine, only the one was invisible.
Dijas
It happened to me too. With mudcrabs. I thought it was some problem concerning graphics, because I killed a mudcrab (West Gash zone, I think) completely invisible, then I killed another and when it died I saw a bit of its body (not its complete body). In the way from Caldera to Ald'Ruhn, it happened to me with a nix-hound and a rat. Near Ald'Ruhn, it happened to an Allit. But lately I mede some changes in my graphic settings and it stopped. Maybe this can help?
Emperor_Ike
I would say either ramp up or decrease your hardware acceleration (right click on desktop, prop's, settings, advanced). Or turn off some mods, as they eat up memory. I've never had to deal with an invisible anything, but my game crashes now and then, even on 512 MB memory with ATI Radeon 9800. And 768 MB NVidia GeForce 2. But that's a little older. Still post-Morrowind release, however, I might add. B)
MDH Weaponeer
I have a friend who had to fight a floating mask instead of Dagoth Ur.
Duragon
funnily enough, while near the caldera mines I was attacking by a cliff racer who got a CRITICAL hit into me!! I found that shocking because I am usually very aware and enjoy shooting them down for sport, but as it seems I was walking along the mountain ridge then BLAM *Critital Hit*. Granted i turned around and shot the b*stard but the fact it stealthy got right behind me unseen was very strange. The sounds in morrowind are terrible lol and you can hear scribs eating grass miles away, not least the noisy Racers, so shalalalala. If this happens am sure their are invisible ones out their too. Perhaps there is an Assassin guild for stealthy Cliff Racers ^_^
