After installing/uninstalling the game at least half a dozen times just to get it to start by itself, I find that it still CTD on the first loading screen if I have a mod ticked. I know about the busethreadedAI = 1 fix, but that hasn't helped. Have any other fixes or workarounds been discovered?

Loading screen on first screen usually means missing master or bad load order. Which mods are you trying to run? Also running FNVedit with you active load order will usual tell you about missing/bad load order's.

Ah, thank you, I'll try it with FNVEdit and see what it says.

I'm trying to run a pretty basic companion mod I made for myself. It's nothing fancy, which is part of what has me baffled.

Thanks for the advice!

I'm having the same issue. After the 1st loading screen CTD. I tried using the same method to fix.

I'm running Windows 7

8GB Memory

4 Core

AMD Radeon HD 6530D Graphics

Fallout.ini (under my games) and steam folder was edited

In general section I changed

bUseThreadedAI=0

bUseThreadedAI=1

Added another line after it and inserted:

iNumHWThreads=2

I thought this would limit the game to 2 cores and prevent the engine bug from causing the game to freeze.

My load order is the following:

FalloutNV.esm

DeadMoney.esm

HonestHearts.esm

OldWorldBlues.esm

LonesomeRoad.esm

CaravanPack.esm

ClassicPack.esm

MercenaryPack.esm

TribalPack.esm

GunRunnersArsenal.esm

Total active plugins: 10

Total plugins: 112

I disabled all the mods except the essential ones and still get a CTD, anyone have a solution?
