Adipose Posted July 14, 2017 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Over the years, I've developed several questions with regard to the Anime based approach to modding Skyrim npcs. 1. Why do NPCs frequently wear glasses? If they're broken, I doubt that there are any opticians to do repairs. 2. Why are NPCs rarely scarred or in any way less than perfect as to complexion? Of course, that's quite common among "Western" style mods as well. 3. Why do, seemingly, the majority of NPCs persist in wearing underwear? 4. Why are NPCs frequently seen winking or making cute gestures...most of which are actually pretty cute I must admit. A good many of them seem to be of a stock variety. 5. Why do nearly all NPC mods not exhibit bounce, etc.? 6. Why do Elves most frequently have ears sticking out to either side, often for quite some distance? TeofaTsavo Posted July 14, 2017 Share Posted July 14, 2017 (edited) Beauty of a modded game. :smile: Because "reasons" and because we can :smile: (Note that most of that isn't in My skyrim) Personally, I'd ask Bethesda why their Elven folk fell out of a tall ugly tree and landed in a fire...said fire then being beat out by a helpful crowd with ugly sticks? Possibly age. I'd long formed an opinion on Elven appearance prior to anime popularity and RA Salvatore. My wood elf.... Adipose Posted July 14, 2017 Author Share Posted July 14, 2017 (Grin) I'm a lot more traditional as far as Elf appearance is concerned. My ideal is probably closer to Bethesda, but with better skin. Elves aren't human after all is said and done. In the literary genre, they're even sometimes depicted with pointed teeth. Also, I DEFINITELY prefer the traditional Western style elf ear...close to the head but still long and pointed. The Anime style seems like it ought to be able to flap in the breeze. Also, for some reason I find it very annoying that, when one is changing followers outfits and playing dress up dolls(which is what we basically do), that I can't change their undies either. I suppose one reason for the Anime approach is that a lot of their female followers are little girl types and they don't want perverts messing about with them. THAT I can understand entirely.
