eagledude4
The Man Cave is a custom player abode (and my first creation kit mod) which I have meticulously put together to fit my character's needs. I decided to release it to the public because I believe it will fit your character's needs as well. Please use the link of your choice below to view information, images and downloads. trees415
Y u no put door? Seriously though, making the player COC into the house is lame. Portals (aka doors) are ridiculously easy compared to a lot of other things in this game, so why not pick a plot of land and claim your turf? I will add the door once I find a suitable place to put it :) Edited February 25, 2012 by eagledude4
Sunnie
Additionally, releasing with that list of bugs? The last 3 are pretty major issues to release publicly.

I don't think so, besides the containers not keeping your items, but that can be prevented with a backup. I did my best to make sure all containers have player ownership, but mistakes happen and I could have missed one accidentally. The book issue will be fixed in the next release, and the dragon masks isn't a bug by bethesda. Edited February 25, 2012 by eagledude4

I have worked in this industry for more than a couple decades, almost 10 years of it in QA management. Releasing something to the public that can make them lose their stuff is a huge no-no. Simply saying "make a backup" doesn't send a very good message to the users of your mod. Broken weapon racks, yet another lose your item issue that can be easily fixed. Broken book cases, again, likely a simple fix. The dragon mask issue, I have no idea what you did to make it not work, I have a bust system in my own house mod that works just fine. My point here is that all those serious issues are probably a simple fix, but you released it anyway. I honestly think you should have waited to release this until you got those issues resolved. eagledude4
The Dragon priest masked are glitched in the editor itself, so its not my fault that they don't work. Any mod that alters containers has the possibility of eating items, it's an easy thing to overlook, I havn't had the problem happen to me, but I felt it was necessary to put a warning out there. Bethesda themselves released the game with tons of easy to fix bug. I'm not asking anyone to pay for my work, so I don't see a problem with releasing it when I feel is best. I feel the earlier I release it to the public, the quicker I get feedback, and the less work I have to do to appeal to the user base in the long run. I would rather get suggestions every step of the way rather than after I've completed it and no one likes what I've done. As long as the issue get fixed, it\s not really a problem in my eyes. You made good points, and I respect your opinion, but I don't want to continue debating this. Edited February 26, 2012 by eagledude4
Korodic
Yeah these issues are very serious man. Why would I want to download your mod at the risk of losing my stuff? Sure... I could make a backup... but then if your mod poops out on me then I need to load back to before then. And if I have left the house for awhile... I may need to load quite aways back. I'm sure you were eager to release it, but you'd receive better criticism for a finished product. Just look at Bethesda lmao. Release then fix was not the best solution. Well from what I've noticed from other player home containers is there is no ownership assigned to "Player". So far all I know, there could be no risk at all. I'm just warning people just in case. Getting negative criticism isn't a big issue for me. If the criticism is negative, I'll fix the problems and work harder until there's more positive criticism than negative.
