Kane65
What's the easiest method for extracting BSA files... is there something quicker than the creation kit? Is there a way to do it with a right click like a zip file?

H3xx
Just tried bsa browser, and it doesn't work. It opens the bsa, reads it correctly, but promptly freezes when you try to extract the files. I used it on Skyrim-textures.bsa
ita
Well that's a bummer. You can always download and install FOMM, I know it says Fallout Mod Manager but it extracts Skyrim .bsa's too.

It's nice having all the bsa's extracted in an offsite folder so you can use it as a mod reference.
sukeban
I used bsaopt to extract the weapons and armor from the first hd texture pack. It worked like a charm.

This. For reference, if someone is reading this because you have a problem with Esbern in the Ratway Warrens, read on. SOLUTION: In your install directory there is a file "\Data\Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa". You need to download the BSAopt tool. Use it ant extract the contents of that BSA to the same directory that the original BSA file is. You'll end up extracting the files and they'll be placed in the directory "Data\sound\voice\skyrim.esm\maleuniqueesbern". After that, you're done. Just start the game up and try again. I had to extract to a dummy folder on the desktop, then copy/merge the extracted sound folder into the X:\XXXXXXXX\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\Sound folder. Worked like a charm, Esbern talking and progressing the quest. Bloody Skyrim....if it wasnt so cool I'd throw it out because of the massive number of bugs. :-\
Rencer
I like to extract the SKYRIM textures for optimization, and the last hope for me to extract the files, is the FOMM.(Sadly, NONE of the other programs work for me! Really, none, I tried everything, maybe they simply doesn't like 32bit Winsuc...I mean Windows XP...) But I have problem with this program too, because it wont let me install it, because it want to find Fallout3 or FalloutNV.I have Fallout 3, but i DON'T WANT to install it, just because of it. So, my question is: HOW I CAN INSTALL FOMM when I have just Skyrim installed, and no Fallout3 or FalloutNV?
Lord Garon
I think I just ignored the errors, or lied to it, and it installed anyways. I don't have any Fallout games on my machine.
