Texture LOD question - Force body to same LOD as face

Hopefully it's a simple answer. My computer is not cutting edge, but it can certainly handle the vanilla textures on objects that are very close. Yet all the time I find the game engine reducing the LOD on the textures unnecessarily. for the most part it's fine but the one area that annoys me the most is player / NPC textures. I have noticed that the face textures NEVER fail to show the full LOD level when up close even when the rest of the player / NPC is blurry as hell due to forcing a lower LOD.

is there anyway to force the body / clothing to use the same LOD as the face?

You're confusing LOD's for mipmaps. LOD's are for environmental objects in the distance (trees/rocks/buildings etc) and mipmaps are smaller resolution versions of the textures.

It's a common issue that Fallout4 has problems fully loading the textures sometimes when an object is very near to the player character/viewpoint. A lot of the time it's due to how badly optimized the game is, and the engine struggles. Other times, it's actually due to the texture streaming that Falllout4 uses not working correctly - waiting usually alleviates this, and the textures eventually render correctly.

It could also be that you're using graphic settings that are too high for your system to handle efficiently. To alleviate the strain, you could try lowering some of the settings. Shadow distance and shadow quality are the first you should reduce. If this doesn't improve things, you could try lowering godrays or use this mod to retain high quality looking godrays, but without the performance dip. Without knowing your system specs, I can only speculate on what else might be helpful.

I appreciate the response. And yes you are right I was confusing model slang for texture slang. I did indeed mean the mipmap

Specs are well within the range. I actually have some settings set lower than necessary just because. It's not that the system is being over taxed, it's more like it just gives up trying and says "time's up! Good enough!". It may be just a memory issue, currently 8gb ram. The thing is - faces NEVER reduce to lower quality when close up. Never. At all. I also notice that downloaded mod clothing also does not revert to potato quality when close up. It is specifically the vanilla clothing and armor textures I'm talking about I was wondering if there is some sort of flag for face textures that could be also applied to clothing.
