ALmost No mods working

I posted earlier of the Cute elves race mod not working but after trying some other mods such as the apachii goddess store i realized that even after following the instructions the mods would just not work.

 

I have the datafiles check mark thing checked and again have the files in the right spot as far as i know but still no working mods.

 

The only conclusion i can come to is if they require shivering isles or if i need to update somehow. If this is the case i would appreciate a link to a place to update

The best place for Oblivion updates is the official Bethesda site. http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_plugins.htm

In the left column, first one - picture of a stream takes you to the patches. Be sure to use the right patch - there are 2 English patches for Oblivion , UK & US and they are different - some people seem to thing we speak the same language, but Bethesda knows better.

 

If you need SI, I recommend buying a copy, then patching it - same place. The download version can't be patched and you won't have the disk for a backup if you have to reformat.

 

Vista users may have to disable a security function known as UAC. If you have downloaded and installed, and the mod is appearing in your Data Files List, but not in your game check to see if UAC is turned on. If so.
