For some containers, the respawn box is grey'd out, and I am unable to uncheck the box to prevent the loss of items. How do I fix that? Edited by eagledude4

I've never seen a container object I could not change respawn on, might want to be a little more detailed about which container(s) you are having this issue with.

However...

Suggestion: Make your own base container object (via copy), don't use a container that's already in use all over the place.

You will need to create a new base object for the container and uncheck respawn there. Most likely using a special container that has a specific purpose already like for radiant quests.

I was using the satchels from breezehome (which also have their respawn box checked and grey'd out

I was thinking of doing that as an alternative, thought maybe there was an easier way. Thanks for the help.

Also, I was just wondering: What's the purpose of the ownership field? I noticed you can give a container's ownership to the Player. (And apparently Player is considered an NPC)

Setting player ownership makes some stuff not usable by NPCs. Setting ownership to an NPC prevents other NPCs from using it, and may be flagged as theft if you take it.

Strange, I thought npc's took only what they were scripted too.
