thunderlord2200
is there a way to make a new type of ammo for the game and u can make it there the crafting bench? the 1 of 2mod idea i have gives u the ablity to turn normal ammo into energy rounds... what i mean by this is u can make a 9mm hundgun use energy rounds they fit into the guy. u can do this for all the guns.. so instead of firing 9mm solid rounds u be firing a laser round at them.. that looks like a small battery i guess.. xD and my other idea is simmer make recharging rounds for all the guns or atlest laser guns, EC rounds, Plasma rounds but these rounds dont last forever like everything that rechanges they start to not hold as much as they used to.. like for the automatic laser gun that looks like a tompsom slams 1 round in there and it has a charge of 300 or something then it slowly recharges it self. to the point u have to remake anew recharge round... greenknightfury
You couldn't do it with ammo...you'd have to make variants of the guns themselves, and possibly make an item or npc that can remodel the guns.

Gribbleshnibit8
You wouldn't necessarily have to create all new weapons etc. NVSE has a whole slew of weapon editing functions that allow you to change ammo lists, ammo use, damage, action points, range, grip, animation, etc. You get the idea. It doesn't do everything (you can't change the projectile), but since an ammo type can have a projectile associated with it, you could change it there. One thing you can't change is the weapon's built in ammo regen value. However, utilizing a weapon mod you can add it, à la Laser RCW. Of course, that would work for any ammo fired, but, thanks to schalngster, NVSE also has functions for detecting what mods are on a gun and removing them via script (see The Weapon Mod Menu). I'm not sure about making recharging rounds 'wear out' like you describe. I'm sure it'd be possible in some manner, perhaps tied to weapon health or some other existing value. This would be the trickiest part I think. So to recap:Using the built in ammunition properties, you can give an ammo type a unique projectile, allowing a 9mm to fire lasers (however that works ).Ammunition effects can easily alter weapon damage based on the type of ammo used (with no edits required to a weapon).NVSE allows you to alter the weapon properties, such as Action Points required, range, etc.Because guns now use ammo lists, a simple AddFormToFormList (bad), or NVSE ListAddForm (good), you can easily add new ammo to a weapon. I think that covers most of what you asked, and it pretty easy to do. The second thing, ammo that lasts for a limited time with 'one' round, would be quite a bit harder to do, but not impossible (I don't think). se7enraven
I believe all you would have to do is edit every form list (ammo list) of every weapon you want to use the ammo. I am not sure how a bullet would look shooting out of a laser pistol, or a laser shooting out of a shotgun, but it is possible.-Peace!
