Mind control turret

Just remembered good ol' Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge. The Yuri faction had mind control turrets which could control up to 3 (I think) enemy units if they get close enough, which then are on your side, unless they die or the turret is destroyed.

Could something like this be implemented in F4? I imagine a small structure with one of these brain tanks from the Automatron add-on on top. Instead of attacking, it does something like the intimidation/incite perk. Or just change their faction or whatever, so that they become friendly to you.

It should also remember whom it has mindcontrolled, so that if the turret is destroyed or doesn't have enough power, they are instantly returned to their former self. Similar to the RA2 version, the number of entities one turret controls should be limited, for balancing reasons.

Shouldn't work on robots, for obvious reasons, except robobrains. If I remember correctly, other factions in RA2 had robotic units especially in order to have something which is immune to mind control.

Yep, I imagine this could all be done pretty easily, and the turret itself could run a script to manage the controlled NPCs.

Not that I'm volunteering for this one.

There's some modeling involved (my largely self-imposed limit that keeps me from going too overboard), and recently I have for many reasons had the feeling that I should retire from modding altogether, or at least leave for a little while, but I probably won't, in the end. (There are at least two ideas I'd like to realize for just Fallout 4 that may end up there when I have less real work to do, and if the game ever enjoys the usually-expected resurgence in the number and dispositions of mod users...)

I obviously did love me some Command & Conquer (especially early Red Alerts, Renegade, & Generals) though. One of the franchises which was really dedicated to out-of-the-box weaponry. I always find it fascinating that Warcraft/Starcraft, Fallout (the originals & New Vegas, which was Obsidian's, along with KOTOR2, Stick of Truth, etc.), and games like Red Alert 2 (from Westwood Pacific, later EA Pacific, with some of its alumni going off to start Left 4 Dead's TRS/Valve South) all came from around the same small geographical area.

Hm, the RA2/C&C thing could be extended, maybe.

- Tesla Coil: Shoots lightning, like the Tesla Rifle from Automatron. A settler can be assigned to it optionally, which increases it's defense value and firepower further, to simulate the tesla trooper charging it. If possible, that settler gains a tesla rifle on assignment and keeps firing lightnings at the coil.

- Prism Tower: fires retextured bluish-white laser beams. In the simplest case, each tower's defense value and firepower increases with each additional tower in the same settlement. Not sure if it would be possible, or sensible performancewise to try to implement the network logic of these things as it happens in RA2.

- Stealth Generator: during an attack, instead of shooting enemies, it applies the stealth boy effect to nearby allies.
