Creating a weapon quest.

I'm trying to make a simple or so I think quest that lets you get a sword if you have X strength the sword is already in game but I want it to be unusable until you have so much strength and trying to click it gives you a message saying you're not strong enough yet, how would I do this?

actually , that's already been done in New Vegas

look at the Rising Sun sword added by http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40040/?

here you have to have Wild Wasteland for it to appear , but it requires I think 8 strength to pick it up (and maybe a specific melee skill , not sure)

 

you can look at how it was done by looking at the mod files and trying to figure it out

or you can also pm the author of the mod , and ask him how he did it

should get you on the right track
