Weird Positioning and Other Oddities

So the biggest issue I'm having is that every time I try starting a new game the mirror scene behaves oddly. Sometimes it will start in 3rd person with an odd filter causing everything to look sorta bluish. Then after a few moments of the characters being "frozen" I'll be spawned into first person as default Nate. Other times the mirror scene starts as normal, but Nate will just stand there staring at himself in silence with Nora nowhere to be found. Sometimes this issue will remain indefinitely while other times if I wait long enough the scene will progress as usual.

 

My second issue came after managing to finally get through character creation after the latter of the aforementioned scenarios occurred. Things went fine until I reached the vault, or rather until we were frozen. When the white screen popped up after freezing it just stayed there for a much longer period of time than I've experienced before. When the Kellogg scene finally occurred I was surprised to discover that my character had spawned outside the cryo-pod. I couldn't move or really do anything except look around, but when Kellogg turned to do the whole "At least we have the backup" line he pushed me out of the way to look inside my empty pod. The sound effects also seemed a bit off as Kellogg's gunfire didn't sound off until almost a full second after the animation. The white screen then returned and things went as usual, though sound effects during the pod opening scene seemed a bit off as they were in the Kellogg scene.

 

I know these are pretty small issues since the game is apparently playable even with them (though requiring a few restarts to get through character creation is a chore...) However, I'd love to figure out a solution. I've been modding Fallout 4 since launch and I've never experienced this issue. The only thing I've done differently this time around was installing F4SE and LooksMenu. I assume it's one of these causing the issue, but I'd like to get a second opinion from you fine folks. A Google search yielded nothing in regards to this problem so it seems I might be the first with it, or at least the first to "report" it. Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.
