chassthemighty
Hey everybody, at wit's end here with the Fallout 4 modding.. Especially frustrating as I've never had an issue with Skyrim modding. To get to the problem, none of the mods I've installed seem to be working properly.. For example, Homemaker's items aren't appearing, nor can I see any changes I make via enabling the single menu or multi-menu options via the holotape. The "Clean menus" option or whatever it's called doesn't seem to work either. True Storms won't even turn on in game, the holotape is stuck on TRUE STORMS: OFF. And don't even get me started on Piper.. Loving Piper? She's become a hairless monstrosity! I've used LOOT and I've seen no errors aside from the false flag DLC errors that I've read aren't an issue. The load order seems fine, and I've put the necessary modifications into the Fallout4pref and Fallout4custom files... Basically I'm at wit's end here and would appreciate any help you can give me. Attached are screenshots of my NMM load order, and the LOOT list.
Arneercool
You should probably go ahead and clean those files in any case. You must have missed something obvious because you hardly have anything that can conflict. A shot in the dark would be to turn that god forsaken hd pack off and see if that helps any. MightyZ0G
I've put the necessary modifications into the Fallout4pref and Fallout4custom files. did you edit the fallout4prefs.ini or the fallout4.ini? the edits to enable mods go in the fallout4.ini not the fallout4prefs.ini

Tried turning off the HD pack to no results. Also, this question is probably going to sound stupid.. But beyond the use of FO4SE, is there another way to clean the DLC? I've put the necessary modifications into the Fallout4pref and Fallout4custom files. did you edit the fallout4prefs.ini or the fallout4.ini? the edits to enable mods go in the fallout4.ini not the fallout4prefs.ini They do? According to the NMM wiki for Fallout 4, it says simply to edit the prefs and custom ini's. Nevertheless, I made use of Wyre Flash and FO4E, and I'm sad to report its not made a difference. MightyZ0G
in NMM there is the screwdriver and spanner icon at the top.click that and select reset archive invalidation (bottom option) and see if that helped

Can I ask what edits I should have applied to the base Fallout4.ini? The wiki didnt say anything about them, but I'll try anything at this point
MightyZ0G
put this in the fallout4.ini under [Archive]bInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal= just to make sure, you edited the ini files in the fallout4 folder in your documents NOT the ini files in the game folder in steam? And dumb question.. Do I need to be using the F4SE?
Grenade201
I'm having similar problems with mod Holotapes not functioning correctly and unfortunately i do not have a solution for this. Running NMM in administrator mode has fixed some modding issues but I don't think it will help with the Holotape issue. As for Homemaker, I had an issue with the mod showing up in the menu, but almost nothing had icons (Including the Homemaker tab it's self) and structures that lacked icons could not be spawned and were deleted from my save. My solution was to take the Homemaker.esm and Homemaker - Main.ba2 files from the Homemaker zip and dump them into the F4 Data folder. After hopping back into the game everything was seemingly restored and functioning. Hope this helps you, these issues were driving me nuts. Also, make sure to scroll all the way to the right of the workshop menu to access Homemaker. I used an older version of Homemaker a long time ago and after installing the newest version I thought everything had disappeared.
