Adipose
Why is the Nexus search system so bad? I really hate to be critical of the site, however, I can frequently exit and go onto the Net in general and do a search that will enable me to find the mod that I want using the same parameters that I'd entered on the Nexus with no results. Dark0ne
We know our search system isn't great, however, can you give examples of searches you've done on Nexus Mods that have yielded no results, that provide results on Google?
Adipose
We know our search system isn't great, however, can you give examples of searches you've done on Nexus Mods that have yielded no results, that provide results on Google? I was recently searching for Ronin Outfits but couldn't remember the full title. So, I entered Ronin both in title and in description for two separate searches. I got two hits, neither one the primary mod. The actual title of the mod is "Ronin Outfit". Entering Ronin should've produced a hit on the primary mod along with the spin offs. I went up to the Net search bar at the top and entered "Ronin in Skyrim". That produced a load of hits, among which was "Ronin Outfit", the primary that I was searching for. I've been forced to do this kind of search on more than one occasion. So have others. It's very interesting and, frankly, I don't understand. I was first clued in to this Nexus search method by another player about three or so years ago and I've used it as a fall back ever since.
Adipose
Btw, apologies for being critical about a feature of an otherwise superb site. I've sat on this for many years and finally entered a criticism in a fit of pique.
Jeir
I just tried this: typed in 'ronin' in the 'file name' bar. Got three hits. The top on was the very mod you mentioned. With the advanced search, got the same result. Went down to the 'attributes' section and started unchecking them to see if any of those are the cause. It disappeared when 'anime content' was unchecked, which is a tag. So, perhaps it's not the search's fault, but an issue with the tags you have blocked (and the tagging system in general). I've pretty much always used the Nexus search to find things, and have never had issues. Possibly because I don't block any tags (because the tagging system is awful). Dark0ne
It's OK. Are you blocking any tags? Check by going here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/users/tagpreferences/?
Adipose
It's OK. Are you blocking any tags? Check by going here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/users/tagpreferences/? Ah, okay. My blushes. Aargh! Gonna be very awkward if that's been the cause all along. Oh well, Old Fart sticks his foot in it AGAIN.. Went and checked. Had all four blocked across the top. I absolutely don't remember doing that, except that I'm not much interested in any of those topics. With that in mind I may well have done so several years ago and forgot all about it. Now going to try search again. Here's the skinny. Unblocking in "preferences" accomplished nothing. However, when I checked "anime content" under "attributes" on the file search page I popped all three of the "Ronin" references. So, for the last several YEARS I've been handicapping myself just because I'm not a big Anime fan. Rats, Reckenfreks, and unprintables in several foreign languages!!! Oh well, even old dogs can be taught new tricks. Apologies for the criticism. Still, it IS possible to access Nexus and Mod related topics by going to the Net. I discovered "Darkest Dungeon" just today. Now I'm trying to discover what that's all about.
