res0bj20
Is there any feasible way to edit your character's current head in blender? racemenu is nice but it has very limited option for editing each individual vertices. I would like to keep current head on my character =/
RGMage2
Yes, you can edit the head in blender. Import and export procedures are a little bit complicated but it can be done. However, that's not really what you want to do because editing the head mesh will have little effect on how it looks in-game. In Skyrim all the humanoid races use the same head mesh and the shape for each race is changed by the shape keys in the tri file. That's actually good news for you because importing and exporting the tri file is very simple and requires no special knowledge. The file you want to edit is either FemaleHeadraces.tri or maleHeadraces.tri in the Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets folder. You will need to install a plugin for Blender that will allow it to import and export a tri file. Blender tri file import and export tool by Tool by kapaer If you edit existing races you might want to save your file under a different name when you export it, then select it in the CK when you setup your custom race. You can also add a new shape key for a new race if you want to go that way. If you add a new shape key, the name of the shape key and the name of your new race should be identical, then when you setup your custom race in the CK and select the YourRace.tri file, you would set the morph race to auto and it should automatically use the shape key with the same name as the race. If you edit the position of the eyes or brows then you will probably create clipping with those face parts, then you would have to edit their tri files to correct the problem. I would suggest very gentile editing around the cheeks and chin for testing purposes at the beginning, and then you can decide how deeply you want to get into this. It can become a major project as one thing leads to another. I have done this before but it's been a while and I'm going by memory so I hope I've got it right. If you have any other questions, don't PM me, ask them here and I will answer if I can. That way other people lurking get to learn things as well. NightroModzz
I do this a lot and use Zbrush. Some of the people I work with have tried this with Blender, and can end up uneven and scrunched up in some areas. For morphing, It's best to just use the move brush, masking, and polygroup features within Zbrush. You can try the fully features 45-day trial, and or Zbrush Core which is a little over $100. It's my favorite and most used application, and all future updates/versions are free! when you start, just export from NifSkope as obj. Once you are done with the base head mesh, you can auto morph the tri files to match the new base within BodySlide&OutfitStudios. You will need to contact Blaze69 for details on that. Here are some examples of my work. Detailed Khajiit Heads Shark Race Race Mod Projects Edited August 2, 2017 by NightroModzz
