WorldShaperDragon
Ah, so its a form list, I see. Still, using NONE doesn't seem to break anything.
DarkLylyth
I've only run across one problem, which is the fact that my Gnoll Race for some reason gets the Khajiit options for hair. I'm still trying to figure out why
WorldShaperDragon
Here's what I've managed to get so far for my race, and I've managed to not blow up anything I wasn't eventually able to fix. Messed around with retexturing, through I have done only a very small amount so far (Specifically, just the nose so far) - I plan on doing some later, once I figure out a workaround for a rather crippling bug in paint.net that occurs with low-alpha, low-brightness colors while blending with the paintbrush; it rounds down the values applied, resulting in strange colors. Currently I've only done the female head mesh; I'll do the male one later (it will take a bit more work, and I'm currently interested in just trying to get things to *work* first. I also have a few minor tweaks I intend to do to the current head mesh as well, and I have utterly no additional head parts yet, so I need to make all those (including the inside of the mouth!). Anyways, just wanted to show that it can be done ^^ Warning: lots of images http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee216/C_Lupus/vaalsarkF01.pnghttp://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee216/C_Lupus/vaalsarkF02.pnghttp://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee216/C_Lupus/VaalsarkF03.pnghttp://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee216/C_Lupus/vaalsarkF04.pnghttp://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee216/C_Lupus/vaalsarkF05.png

DarkLylyth
that looks really good :) How did you do the nose? I was looking at the Khajiit nose last night, and it doesn't look like that
WorldShaperDragon
Thanks! -- A combination of some custom texturing and playing with the verts.
DarkLylyth
hmm...is it just a recolour, and reshape?
WorldShaperDragon
Right, both. In other news, just finished modelling the mouth for the female head, will be trying it shortly
DarkLylyth
what are you planning on doing with it? also, is your race supposed to be dog like, or more like a fox? I noticed that it looked more vulpine than canine
WorldShaperDragon
Well, I have a rather ambitious pipe-dream mod involving new worldspaces... But in terms of more immediate, realistic goals, I just plan on releasing them as a custom race mod. Anyways, they aren't based off of any particular real-world animal, so much as being merely caniform (though the final design also draws inspiration from some deep-sea predatory fish with their bio-luminescent lures; the first of the Vaalsark were created artificially during the second era from a cave-dwelling predator, the Vaalskan (from which they derive their name, or at least, their dwemeris name, and they use a language which is basically... what modern english is to the precursors of old english is what their language is to dwemeris), which naturally preyed upon organisms living in the caves which ate the glowing fungi (hence the use of the lures), as well as other things, like chaurus, though their natural resistance to magic also made them quite adept at hunting the falmer once they showed up to wage war against the dwemer. To explain more would take quite a while and get needlessly in-depth into the lore I created for them (and the aforementioned mod).) [edit] - speaking of which, I need to figure out how to make the glowing spots that will be running down their back.
