gokmenique
Tried every possible fix, old-new-beta gfx driver and also reinstalled the game again and again.. Tried helpful mods, community patches, that ini tweak about threadedai, everything you name it. I finished the game when It came out on my old machine. Last summer I picked it up steam goty edition, and never touched the game ever since. Now I see there are plenty mods around and I wanted to come back to this amazing game (also wanted to play DLC's.. I only finished the main story back then.) Like I said. I've played it without any crashes back then. I had e5200 dualcore cpu back then with 4830 gpu. Gameplay was smooh and crashes never occured. I also remembering using windows 7...now what happened? why playing fo3 is impossible? what can I do please tell me I am thinking about partitioning my hdrive and installing winxp to that partition if thats gonna help cuz I just want to play my game..Why I cant play game without crashing in every 10 or 20 minutes now ? I got i5 2500k cpu, 8 gb ram, 5850gpu and win7x64..I have tried EVERY FIX popping up when you wrote "fallout 3 windows 7 crash quad core i5" or stuff like that to google.. nothing worked, then I started to change my GPU driver to older ones and the newest beta's. there aint nothing I havent tried.. nothing is working. How do you guys still play this game? crash in every 10 minutes? random texture errors? stupid ai lock-ups? it was beautiful with my e5200. I regret this upgrade just bcuz of fo3.. Things I have tried: rolling back my overclock to stock speeds, disabling 2 cores and making cpu crippled -2core from bios, installing older gpu drivers, installing new gpu drivers, installing new gfwl, disabling gfwl, enabling gfwl, changing monitor, uninstalling all audio and video codecs on my pc, installing fresh windows7, installing fresh steam and fresh fo3 goty, updating my onboard sound drivers, changing my keyboard (logi g15 to standard keyboard), installing all .NET packages including those you never need, installing community "fo3 remastered" or "comm patch mod" stuff like that, after %100 untouched - vanilla steam download making everything low, turning on vsync, turning off vsync, unplugging gamepad or other stuff from my pc,disabling steam overlay,...... my computer specs:i5 2500k 8gig ram hd5850 raid0
davycrockett
I see you have tried rolling back drivers , how about ..and this ones gonna sound nuts rolling back your hard ware yes a newer machine should blitz FO3 , but id wonder how much the architecture differs between FO3's generational hardware and today's hardware .Between my two machines my older x4 phenom likes FO3 but not FNV and vice versa for my x6 phenom which have about 3-4 years between them , If you still have it that is it could be worth a shot also there is a windows 7 help forum for games and yes you guessed it FO3 is there . www.sevenforums.com
gokmenique
Unfortunately I sold all my old hw. and yes sevenforums came up on top when I use google so I tried their problem solving methods. I came to idea that ppl dont know how they solved or make game less-crashing so there are lots of methods and I have tried most of them. Honestly there isnt so much gap between fo3 release and now if you think about compatibility. I am running ps2 games with emulator flawlessly with this hardware, how can It fail rendering 5 year old game or 4 Idk.. I feel so exhausted and still digging - trying to make game work as it should. gonna reinstall once more not from steam backup, straight from steam servers this time... gokmenique
have you tried updating micorsoft visual c++ 2010 re distributable package x64 or direct x end user runtime at all ? Yeah I did like I said. I am able to run bf3 or splinter cell chaos theory (very old game) .. I mean I dont have ANY issues with any software I run. And you know what unofficial fo3 patch really helped increasing stability. I can play maybe 20 minutes now. no crashes at least not everytime I travel thru pipboy.. better at least.
