Exelaratore
I'm adding a reshade mod on Fallout 4, I have F4Se installed, My Scroll Lock button was off, When I launch the game, a message appears letting me know the new reshade is successfully there and working however, the reshade isn't activated because of a yellow error message: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\ReShade.fx(14, 2): preprocessor warning: Could not find application profile, falling back to default Does anyone know a fix to this? How do I get it to find the application profile so it can actually run the reshade? Thanks
MightyZ0G
does the reshade require any other files?some need the ENB files from enbdev.com (the download button is the tiny black arrow pointing down at the bottom left of the page) have a read of the reshade's install instructions again.sometimes they require you to make edits to the ini files for the reshade or they require you to rename a .dll
Exelaratore
I'm trying to get this reshade working: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/80/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Ffallout4%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D80%26preview%3D&pUp=1These were the instructions I followed: ThatDirtyShisno17 kudos1390 postsThese are actually simple to add and remove, also pretty sure English is not the author's native language so take that into consideration.Manual Install Instructions (Without Mediator):1: Download Reshade Framework Version 1.1.0 and proceed to unzip it. Now open the ReShade Framework 1.1.0 folder and copy ReShade folder, ReShade.fx, and ReShade64.dll (which you will rename to "dxgi.dll" after pasting) and paste them into your Fallout 4 directory (where the fallout4.exe is).2: Download the file from this mod page and proceed to unzip it and then copy the contents (CustomFX.cfg, Pipeline.cfg, SweetFX.cfg) into the ReShade folder in your Fallout 4 directory overwriting the originals.3: Celebrate with whatever tickles your fancy, you did it! \o/Uninstall Instructions:1: Remove ReShade folder, dxgi.dll (including the dxgi.txt file that it generates), ReShade.fx, and you did it!2: Do not celebrate as you are, however, back to square one. :( I believe I did all of these steps correctly because this is what I see when I start up the game: http://i.imgur.com/lEJ4IKk.jpg?1 I've been doing a lot of research and sometimes Mediator.exe has been mentioned. I don't think I need it though because people have been saying they just manually install the reshade if they don't have Mediator.exe which is exactly what i did. On an online forum, I found someone with a slightly similar problem but it wasnt for Fallout 4. Someone replied with this: To solve this, make sure ReShade is installed in a dedicated folder ìn order to centralized manage any app/game. Then add your/any target application as a profile to the Assistant. This will allow ReShade to find the profile and related preset once you start an app/game I don't have any idea how to "add your/any target application as a profile to the Assistant." I think this would be the solution if I knew how to do that.

MightyZ0G
just had a look at the mod page and the reshade framework page and it's a really complicated install with little information. you might be better off trying an ENB and adjusting the colour balance and saturation in the game.you also get the memory boost, which can improve performance. there are lots of good presets set up for performance that have very little effect on frame rate. sorry I couldn't be of any help

Exelaratore
So I did some digging around my files. The original error was this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\ReShade.fx(14, 2): preprocessor warning: Could not find application profile, falling back to default It seems the last bit from the location was ReShade.fx, So I opened ReShade.fx with notepad and found this string: // Global Settings#if exists(STE(ReShade/Profiles/__APPLICATION_NAME__/Global.cfg))#include STE(ReShade/Profiles/__APPLICATION_NAME__/Global.cfg)#else#warning "Could not find application profile, falling back to default"#include "ReShade/Profiles/Default/Global.cfg" "Could not find application. . ." matches up with my original error message. I think a solution could be found in the Global.cfg file in my ReShade folder. I did, however, try changing __APPLICATION_NAME__ to Fallout 4 Along with the respective folder that was previously named Default, but it didnt do anything substantial (It actually kept me from loading the game up :-\). Ultimately I never really did find the solution, but here's hoping that anyone else who has the same issue I had could use this thread and the information provided to get one step farther than I did to a solution.
