UNDERGROUND1992
I'm sure every magic wielding individual has asked this at some point - why can we only bind up to 8 abilities/items?If I were a user with even the slightest modding experience, I would try to tackle this idea myself - however, after multiple Google searches I've gotten nowhere as to whether a mod for this exists, or how to work on the creation of one. Idea 1The idea is simple - create a mod the expands the customization of keybinding in Skyrim. We can already bind functions such as "Toggle Inventory" to standard alphabetical keys among other keys on the keyboard - or the idea of using modifiers; 1, shift-1, ctrl-1. Idea 2This idea stems from my time in World of Warcraft a bit - not in the sense that I want to replicate that game into Skyrim, but the functionality of its combat system would be particularly useful. The concept being that you did not have to un-equip your weapon or shield in order to cast a spell. As if it wasn't bad enough that we could only use 8 bindings between all of our items, abilities and spells, if we're playing any sort of dual-role class (for example, a character specced into heavy armor, blocking and one-handed, while wanting to utilize the armor enhancement spells from Alteration, or the healing array from Restoration) we then have to sacrifice 2 of those 8 binds, just so we can re-equip our weapon/shield after a mere 3 seconds used to cast said buff or heal. And let's be honest, it's much nicer to be able to bind potions - yes, it's quick already to pop open the favorites menu and just select the non-bound potion, but I'd rather not have to pause mid-fight if a simple mod could be the fix. But say you bind 2 potions - now you're already down to 4 bindings. So the request stands, that a mod either expand the keybindings available, allows casting of spells without un-equiping items, or ideally, both. Personally the game I use keybindings most in is WoW, but there are many other games that players fully appreciate the use of several bindings in - I know on multiple characters on that game I have upwards of 30 bindings, and I'm aware of and use most of them. PsykozQT
Indeed, I've been thinking this as well, when I played WoW I had around 80 keybinds on my warlock, I feel completely gimped with the lack of hotkeys in Skyrim.
