Can someone please give some Ideas as to How to Sort my problem,or give me any advice how to Mod correctly. Thanks for any Help you can give! From Nilma :thanks: PS.Does Anyone know of an Idiots Proof Guide to Modding :unsure: Well my best advice is deactivate all mods you are using and see if it will launch, then painstakingly try out each mod one at a time to see what will work and what conflicts. Since I don't know what mods you are trying I can't give you much more advice better than that, EXCEPT .... download OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager). It has a utility that will detect your mods that conflict. By determing which conflicts with others, you can then decide which not to use. Also, make sure you follow the MOD Author's instructions to detail for installation and that your Oblivion version is compliant with the mods version requirement. You should get the latest download to upgrade your version anyway, sooner or later you'll want that one mod that requires it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you just purchased the game and tried to run it, but the game crashes immediately:*deactivate all the mods.*ensure that the game has been patched*start the game with no mods. If the game still immediately crashes as it is starting up, there is a very good chance that your PC does not meet the requirements to play the game.-------------If the game does start, but is suffering from frame rate stutters or seems to be "skipping" then you may need to tweak the graphics to lower settings. This will make it run smoother on your PC. I can help you with specific settings if you need it.-------------If the game starts and runs fine, then play through the "escape from prison" tutorial, save often, and keep going until you reach the end of the sewers level. The game will ask if you want to alter your character. Before you choose to exit the sewer, save your game here and keep that save so you never have to do that again. Then leave the sewer and make a new save. Now exit the game and activate your mods one or two at a time. -------------If you have already been playing, and this crashing problem just started after installing some new mods, then go back and look at the readme files for each mod. It starts with how to download, how to unzip (with a link to a very good free unzipping program - 7-Zip) and a small test mod located here on the tesnexus for you to practice on. And how to install the mod how to get it into your game and some troubleshooting. I am working on some more advanced tutorials to help with more complicated problems. Hi Woogie, Thank you for your reply. Too firstly Answer your First Questions. I.ve been playing Oblivion for ages including Knights of the Nine,and Tried Shivering Isle but it seems to have a Bug init.I Keep losing Items.Firstly it was any spells that I made.Then Losing items of Armour.So i've taken it off for now. My PC Specs are: Intel[R] Pentim[R] 4 CPU 340 GzZ 3.41GHz,2.00GBof RAM.Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS. The Tools I've Downloaded so far Are OBMM.I'm not sure if its in the corrct location>its in C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion. Should it be in the Data file?. TES Construction Kit.Which i've not tried yet.Looks Complicated!lol I have WinRAR and 7-Zip for trying to unpack the Mods i've download. The Mods i've downloaded so far AFLevelMod-2.8.6rarQuest Award LevelingQarlTP3.zipUnofficial Oblivion PatchBetter nightsky v12rarWizards tower AddonBeautiful_Stars-2520.rarStormier_Storms.zipBook_Jackets__Oblivion_Standard_Res-5570.7zOscuro's-Oblivion-Overhaulnatural_environments_v212.zip. I tried unpacking QarlTP3.zip It took me 2 days to work out Its a .EXE File.Not an esm File. The Only one that I managed to get working is natural_environments_v212.zip. I think The Mistake I made was the Load order.So I've Reinstalled Oblion.Downloaded Oblivion_v1.1UKEnglish.exe Patch,Oblivion_v1.2.0416UK.exe and Installed Both along with The unofficial oblivion Patch. In The past I have I had all the Knights addons and they worked Fineapart from Oblivion_Fighters_Stronghold.exe .One of the shops was always closed. I Will Download OBSE,But i'm not sure where it goes.I'll read the instructions. I've tried making an OBMM mod but I'm not sure if is correct. I tried following the instructions from the http://lhammonds.game-host.org/obmm/tutorials.asp website but I can't get the folders to look right. I hope This list will give you some Idea as too how far I have Got! I Shall see If I can follow bben46 tutorial for using 7-Zip.I just hope I have the correct download.
