Werne
Did you talk to guards? I believe all of them took an arrow in the knee. Edited February 28, 2012 by Werne
Rennn
Perhaps you could avoid tossing around the word "depressed" quite so carelessly? I highly doubt that nobody saying the "arrow to the knee" line made you clinically depressed. It devalues the entire medical meaning of the word when people use it so often to replace "sad" or "bummed".

Rennn
Yes, really. Unless you suffer from it continuously. My request was civil enough. Edited February 28, 2012 by Rennn
worldofscotty
So your actually offended because he said he was depressed? It's wildly over-sensitive to be fair.
Rennn
I wasn't offended until the "Really?" comment. I just deal with **** on a daily basis where people think depression isn't a real thing. I thought it would be a good idea to avoid tossing around the word "depressed" quite as often. The word being used didn't offend me at all; I just prefer that people use words like "sad" or whatever because half my family and all my 'friends' think that "depression" is just something I made up to avoid doing anything. It's the widespread use of the word for any trivial complaint that makes people view it in such a negative light. I'm not offended by it; simply worried that overruse of a medical term will lead to even more people believing that depression is a show. You wouldn't say, "I'm totally diabetic after I ate that burger," would you? Edited February 29, 2012 by Rennn
worldofscotty
Noone is arguing whether it is or isn't a real thing though. Clearly is is a scientifically proven mental state. If he was mocking depression or depressed people in any way I would understand. There has to be limits on what is considered inappropriate otherwise nothing would ever get written on a forum Edited February 29, 2012 by worldofscotty
