Weird eye issue

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Something somewhere is conflicting somehow, and I'm not savvy enough to figure it out. Everything was working well until I rearranged some of the mod order (which of course I don't remember what I did exactly) and now the eyes of all the NPC's are completely insane! My character's eyes are fine, though. I've tried disabling several of the mods and reloading, but I either crash to desktop without loading or I get the same eye issue. I have the Scorn vampirism installed and I'm using the OBSE loader to start, etc (though my char is not a vampire right now - no idea if that matters).

Before you ask, the Oblivion Mod Manager is kind of greek to me...even when everything is working fine it says there are conflicts here and there.

Here's a screen of the eye issue and the mod screen as it stands. Anyone have a clue what the issue might be?

The other issue I have is that I've been trying to get other hairs (soya/corean/babe) to work with my char, which is a Mystic Elf, but no matter what I only seem to get the Ren eyes and hair options ;(

Mostly though, I just want the eyes fixed because it's kind of unplayable this way!

Thanks to all you experts in advance. :wallbash:

Well I figured out at least the eye issue...the Jeepers Peepers mod causes that problem if the esp isn't selected :/ And I had to move it up a lot. All Eyes Unlocked being activated at the same time causes the same conflict, unless it loads first. Regardless though, I only get the Ren eye color choices in the showracemenu console.

These are my mods as of right now. Everything works (as in there are no errors) but I have no options outside of Ren. Thoughts?

Many of the beauty, eye and hair mods have conflicts that cause weird problems. the 'googly' eyes is just one of many. There are mods that combine some of the best though. One is beautiful people, others combine Rens, soyas and others into a workable set in a single mod. You may have to search some to find just what you want.

The soya-04 overwrites the corean hair + elaborate eyes.

the elaborate eyes overwrites the corean hair + elaborate eyes ( probably don't need both, get rid of the stand alone eyes)

then the corean hair +elaborate eyes overwrites the babe hair and so forth all the way to the top of the list.

Each new mod overwrites any part of a previous mod - each hair mod will overwrite parts of any previous hair mod. each eye mod will overwrite portions of any previous eye mod. It sounds simple enough until some mod calls for something that has been overwritten and you get completely unexpected results. Googley eyes, bulging eyes, no eyes. bald head, blindfold over face, strange hairstyle. When you add in the beauty mods you can get invisible heads. (That looks weird) The eyes and hair you want to see in the game should be loaded last. And any that are not used should be disabled to prevent major conflicts.

All of these conflicts are why there are combined mods for hair/eyes/beauty. The combined mods minimize the conflicts.
