Galmar no "reporting in" dialogue

I have to ask, are you playing with any mods? Vanilla Skyrim is very buggy and prone to problems as is. If you're playing without it, I highly suggest you use Arthmoors Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Patch (Unofficial Skyrim Patch if you don't have any of the DLC). The game is basically unplayable without it because it's only a matter of time before something breaks or bugs out. If you are playing with mods, posting your load order would help quite a bit, since a mod could be the cause.

If console commands are a no go, I'm afraid it goes beyond my basic knowledge.

I highly suspect that USLEEP (the unofficial legendary patch) is the cause of a great many problems I have been having.

 

I have 1 mod that directly influences the CW questline, and it is called "For the Stormcloaks!" which allows Balgruuf to side with the Stormcloaks instead of the Empire.

 

Console commands I am willing to do, but is just not been successful thus far. That is all I meant on that account.

 

If you are sure you need my full mod list, than that will take *quite* some time as I have a very lengthy mod list.

Oh no I'm not ignoring you, It's just that I will not be much help at this point. But beyond that and the console commands, I'm not sure what the cause may be. The only thing I can recommend you try is if you disable the mods you know does anything to the civil war questline one by one. If that doesn't work, I don't know. Maybe someone can offer help if you post on reddit or loverslab.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed LL gives superb advice :P

As for Reddit, I've tried several times there over the past couple months and I haven't gotten a single reply. So.... not trying *that* nonsense again.

 

But what would you recommend I do if even LL can't help me? I could either :

 

-- complete the CW via console (setstage CWObj 255 to be precise), and deal with the bugs / glitches / and other unpleasantness

-- reload a save prior to starting Season Unending, try to complete the CW, then do the main quest

 

I'd really appreciate any other suggestions as to what I could do if LL is unable to help me.

If all else fails, reload an earlier save and just skip Season Unending.

OK, I had to try and complete the CW questline on a new character to see if it was a particular mod that was causing my problems. And what do you know, it was the mod. "For the Stormcloaks" *was* the cause of all of my CW problems.

 

I will test this on my main save tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks a ton to both of you for your help. Cheers!

I have good news and bad news:

 

Good news is that I fixed the problem I was having and am at the part in the questline just before you attack Fort Hraggstad. I also, over the course of this 3 week long ordeal, have picked up quite a lot of tricks to fix this and have written them all down, just in case. And I can't thank you both enough.

 

Bad news is that it happened again. Galmar refuses to tell me to attack the last fort before Solitude. However, based on what I've read, this seems to be a fairly common thing. And on top of that, I already have a great deal of things I can do to try and fix it.

 

So it's mostly good news. So.... same procedure? Or is there something different I've gotta do?
