forte89
So I have downloaded Skyrim and Fallout 4 to play and I play with windows 10 and icore7 3.5 GHZ, 8 gb RAMHere is the problem with Skyrim:At first, when I start the game through Skyrim.exe, all is good, but when I run it through Mod Organizer 2 with some mod, the game can not even start. It just lock on for a few minutes and nothing changes. Then I try Mod Organizer 1, I can play the game though but no mod is loaded. It's like running in vanilla. When I try manually install the mods (just extract in Data folder), I can not even run the Skyrim.exe or SkyrimLauncher. Now I even dont know can the dlc be loaded or not. When I try with Nexus mod manager, the game also can not start =.=Now come the Fallout 4:I can run Fallout 4 vanilla normally through mod organizer 2 but still no mod is loaded, the text for Azar Hair (the ponytail one) showed but the character will become no hair at all.I am frustrated and this is my new computer, the old computer with window 7 can play Skyrim pretty well. Is this a problem coming from window 10? Can anyone fix it ? Please HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited August 8, 2017 by forte89
DavinaJo
I'm Sorry you feel fustrated with modding your games under windows 10 I've got both Games and have very little problem with getting them to run with Mods, however I'm using a slightly different mod manager to do this. I can give you some tips 1. install steam and your games to another drive other than C: (windows security protocols will keep things like your mod mananger , and utilities from working ) 2. check to make sure all your mods are installed and that the plugin's are checked 3. Use LOOT (this is for Load Order, and is important if you don't want the game to crash to desktop) 4. if your using the earlier version of Skyrim (Legendary Edition) you'll need SKSE - Make sure you install this correctly, part of it in goes into the main skyrim directory and scripts go into Data folder.5 simular to 4 except get a copy of F4SE for Fallout again you'll need to place part in Fallout 4 main directory and scripts in the data folder. 6 if you don't have it get a copy of TES5Edit and it's Fallout 4 counterpart (this is used to clean the dlc of dirty edits and help with missing master files. there is a lot more as well , FINS (Skyrim) for animation mods , Wrye Bash and list goes on and on Finally there are a set of videos which should help both for Skyrim and Fallout - They're made by a Gentleman who's here on the Nexus and Goes by the user name Gopher. First one is on Mod Organizer it's a bit dated but should help you get around if you're not already use to it -> This one is On Enabling modding on your Fallout 4 Game (again you might not need this if you already done edits he talks about) -> small note he referring to NMM but a lot of what he covers here can be applied to MO. he has other videos as well covering SKSE installation and F4SE installation One Small Cavat about Gopher, he's quite deliberate in his teaching style, (which may or may not be to your liking ) One small thing you need to know about MO unlike NMM MO needs to be install into each Games Directory i.e. Skyrim and a short cut put on your desktop name with game you're modding again ie Mod Organizer for Skyrim another thing about MO is that it uses a virtual Data folder and doesn't not touch the one in your steam folder reason you probably didn't see mods in your game is that the game launcher and or the script extender launcher weren't run under MO (you'll need to add them ). also if it wasn't made clear from the above everything you do will need to be run under MO which means installing your utilities etc. normally then making shortcuts to them from within MO a pain but necessary. Last but not least if you run all your stuff on the main drive (your system drive ) you may have to right click on steam executable file choose properties then compatiblity and then click run as Administrator, click apply then on OK you'll also may have to do this also to your games launcher and executable. I apolgize for the small wall of text but if i covered everything that needed to be done would fill a book. PS most of the utils can be found on the NexusMods with exception of SKSE , F4SE, and LOOT (recent versions can be found on Github) just Google LOOT.
