Skinjack
I’m not sure these are the right forums for this, but I’ll try to keep this relatively short. I had a stroke that severely affected my balance, fine motor skills, and learning. Not stuff I already knew (re-learning that stuff has been relatively straight-forward), but new stuff has been very… elusive. Maybe I’m just getting old. And I can type, but can’t control my hand enough to circle-select very well in Photoshop, so sorry about the texturing. What I am looking for is either someone (or several someones) who can help to complete my models, or who doesn’t mind “handholding” me to teach me some of these processes. I’m a designer by trade, so a lot of these models are SolidWorks to Max conversions that I have slowly done over time. Probably didn’t do myself many favors originally doing them in SolidWorks because the conversion process was painful, but my Max skills were questionable even before I had a stroke. I knew just enough to be dangerous. And I was bored… Anyway, I have these models through texturing. Textures are not really my thing right now (I was better before the stroke), so I don’t really care if anyone who wanted to help wound up changing them. I’m partially color blind, so right now they are shades of grey anyway. It’s easier to match colors (I won’t go into the pink tie story). What I don’t know is pretty much anything Nifskope or Creation Kit related. I don’t know how to attach the textures to the models in Nifskope, create 1st person views, put the items in game etc. Most of the models are just textures, ie no bump maps, etc. I also don’t know if the positioning or scaling is entirely correct, although I did scale them comparing them with existing Skyrim models. And I don’t know if any of the models will cause clipping issues. I have no way of checking these things with my current skills. All my previous mods were personal ones for Morrowind, so I really don’t know what modding for Skyrim entails yet. If there is anyone who can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. As I said, I have learning issues right now so I will probably progress rather slowly, but I do seem to have an abundance of time. And stubbornness, so I’m told. I just hate to see some good ideas and models going to waste, because right now the models are nothing but grey eyecandy. Not a big deal if there are no takers... Here are some images (I hope): LINKShttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/WEAPONS_1_zpspkxgfsua.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/WEAPONS_2_zpsefjalofc.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/WEAPONS_3_zpsszkedrdy.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/WEAPONS_4_zps8qebbybm.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/WEAPONS_5_zpsnfo3iz2l.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/WEAPONS_6_zpsnaxeaftm.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/WEAPONS_7_zpsozayd1sx.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/WEAPONS_8_zpsijo9io9i.pnghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/SWEETSPOT_zpsjh1qzukm.png Been a while since I’ve done links, so patience if these don’t work right. I’m not sure what I did to the model called Marotte to give it a shiny affect, so I haven’t been able to texture it yet like I normally do. It imported that way. Some of these weapons I found drawings online and made the models, but they are all my own models and textures. The bows right now are just models with no strings. And I have no clue on animating them. Hmph, so much for short… EDIT: Sorry, apparently there is an issue with photobucket and links unless... you know... you upgrade to their special, low priced account. Sheesh. Anyone know someplace I can post these images? Been out of the loop waaaay too long. Edited August 9, 2017 by Skinjack
foamyesque
I can't speak to any of the modelling stuff, but if you're looking for an image host, there's Imgur.
Skinjack
Thanks. I'll look them up later today when I get out of work. Kinda sucks having three years go by before you can even attempt this stuff again. The rest of the world is supposed to wait.

If they don't work, I'll try again tonight. Edit: Looks like they worked. Edited August 9, 2017 by Skinjack
TheWormpie
That's... a lot... of beautiful weapons. Well, I've only ever used Blender for modeling and exporting as .nif, so here are a few tutorials that I think I used at some point when I needed to create a few weapons for Skyrim. It's a while ago though, so they might not be perfect, idk. Have a look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwJDy5rNTmohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx9gJ5T22x0 (a big part of this video is about creating the mesh itself so you can skip that)There might be tutorials out there for other programs like Max, but I don't know any of them. Anyway, if you're never successful in implementing your weapons in the game by yourself, I'd highly recommend just releasing your models as a modder's resource somewhere -- I'm sure there are other people like me who'd love to at least have the possibility to use such assets in their own mods (I'm not sure I have the time for that, but who knows what the future brings?) No matter what happens, don't keep those weapons to yourself! Good luck  Edited August 10, 2017 by wormple12
Skinjack
Yeah, Blender is one of those things that confuses the heck out of me, right now. At least with Max I had a little experience before the stroke, so I find it a little more user friendly. I'll skulk around a bit to see if anyone offers any help. If not, a resource might be the way to go. I'm not really expecting anyone to tackle ALL of these. Hard enough getting one in game. But thank you for at least pointing me in a direction. TheWormpie
As far as I remember it's much, much easier than implementing armor pieces, so there's at least that. I might be willing to spend a little time on a single one of your weapons, if you happen to have a favorite you'd like implemented? No promises though, it all depends on whether I remember the difficulty correctly. Skinjack
If you decided to try one, it would be your choice. I'm not really particular about that. I can tell you the sword called Hollow is probably the most detailed weapon I did before the stroke happened and might be an easier model to work with. I do believe that one has a reflection map and bump map made, too. It was back when I was better at this. You might have your eye on another one, though. In the end, it's all up to you whether you wanted to give it a shot.
TheWormpie
I can take a look at it if I find the time. I'll post you an update -- probably after the weekend at some point :)
Skinjack
I would greatly appreciate it. I just went back to the basics and began re-watching Gopher/GamerPoets videos. I've forgotten way too much of this stuff.
