Follow AI Package help!

Hello, everyone i have an issue, however i suppose a bit of context is in order. I was making an NPC as a quick exercise to help me learn the CK as i am relatively new. i managed to create the follower he does follow me and do everything a follower should do however... He has a Friendly wolf that is SUPPOSED to follow him around while we are adventuring. I got the idea from Frodnar, Gerdur's child in Riverwood as he has a dog that follows him when he runs about. i copied the follow AI package from Stump and made a small tweak so it affects the dog in question, and the follower in question. I was delighted to find that it works! sort of... you see the dog follows him around the abandoned building in Raven Rock where the two are originally placed but the dog won't leave the cell rendering him useless. i don't know what else to do as i have attempted to look at the only other case of this package being used that i can think of (Mjoll the Lioness, and Aerin) and copied that but still the same result. The dog won't leave the cell. If anybody knows how to get the dog to leave the cell that would be great!

This is actually a really cool idea.

Have you tried placing the pair outside and seeing if they can follow inside then back out again?

If so, then maybe do that instead.

 

I've noticed similar deals sometimes, it seems to be an odd thing with transitions from exteriors and interiors.
Like I'll have an atronach summoned, but once I enter a building, I have to conjure them again as they are no longer there.

Most animal races including wolves and dogs have a flag set that prevents them from using doors to switch cells. You'll need to create a new wolf race and change that flag on the new copy. To see what's needed just look at the DogRace and DogCompanionRace. DogCompanionRace is used by dunPOITundraMarshDog (Meeko).
