I assume its fog as after typing fw 81a into console (makes day clear and sunny) the blocks dissapear. However id rather not enter the command each time it rains. Any advice?

In the info for a quality world map it says that one of their versions "8.4 "Clear" add-on, which could also erroneously remove clouds from the game world." I'm not sure, but the purple blocks could be missing cloud or fog from Vivid Weathers. Try either loading Vivid Weathers after everything else (particularly after A Quality World Map, or removing/updating the Quality World Map mod.

Removing A Quality World Map did not affect the weird fog textures. Also the changing of the load order did not seem to help unfortuanetely. Thanks for replying though. For now Ill just keep entering in commands to stop the weird fog.
