Best settlement location?

Home Plate is my PRIVATE settlement. I store my good stuff there, legendaries, and my best power armor.

No worries about settlers messing things up.

Plus I can fast travel in/out of it.

 

Otherwise, I build up the larger area settlements, and pretty much leave the smaller ones as-is.

 

Sanctuary, Starlight, Sunshine, Abernathy, Nordhagen, Castle.

 

All large enough to support good sized populations. At 20, I shut off the beacons.

For the smaller ones, I'll let them get to a half dozen or so, then shut off the beacon.

 

The island. I clear it once I clear the Castle, grab the workbench, and then pretty much ignore it.

 

Starlight is a good one as a central hub for supply lines though.
